The Sith are a sect of dark side Force users bent on conquering the galaxy and destroying the Jedi. They have been characterized, in the past, by their single-minded lust for power, and the brutal tendacies they were willing to use in order to acquire their goals. The sect has existed in many diverse forms throughout galactic history, and while many different incarnations of the sect has come and gone, it remains that a Sith Order has always been ever present, at any given time, in the galaxy.
Originally, the Sith were a humanoid species that interbred with a group of exiled Dark Jedi, but after the rise and fall of that people, the meaning of the term //Sith// evolved. Following many years, the Sith would not be identified by their race, but by their dedication to the ancient philosophy that was the knowledge of the Sith of old.
Throughout history, there have been many different sects of Sith, the most current being [[http://therebelfaction.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=132 the Sith Order]], and prior [[http://p210.ezboard.com/bgoldensithempire the Sith Brotherhood]], and the Naboo Sith Order.
