With a new hull design and improved Weapons the new Republic Destroyers will form the base of power in the new Alliance navy. This is the first new Star Destroyer design in many years for the Rendili Engineers and thus will be put threw extensive shack downs before entering active service with the fleet.
While the new Vengeance Class Heavy Turbolaser mounts are larger than standard heavy Turbolasrs the Mark 2 retains the same number of cannons as its predecessor. This is achieved by removing ten Ion Cannons as well as a forty percent increase in internal space for power systems and capacitors and a twenty two percent increase in over all size and external room.
