Hyperdrive: Navsat microjump 3 Hypredrive - The development of the Navigational Hypermarkers and the Navsat Hyperdrives ushered in an era of discovory for the Chiss. The small Bouies make it possible for a vessel to jump without fear of any miss calculations in the Hyperdrive system. The limited hyperspace technology of the Chiss was once a curse but now allows the Chis ships to make small microjumps without having to take the time to plot a course or wait for a hyperdrive to charge up. The class 3 Hyperdrives are slower than their Known space counterparts but are fare more precise and need no computer to plot courses. This also allows the vessel to make short microjumps in a tactical situation. This tactic proves very effecting in battle and is used as a main frequently in battle.

Speed: Low. The mass and power of the Krissii make it a slow moving craft. it is mean to support small vessels and fighters in attacks on larger targets. The large main Ion drive is Housed in the aft of the main body.

Maneuverability: Medium. A combination of advanced thrusters and the slow nature of the Krissii make it more maneuverable than many craft in its class. Small thrust nozzles are located in 4 sets of Thrust pods places along the body of the Craft. A set of thrust pods is also mounted on the Wing pods.

Armor: Heavy. Because of the slow speed and size of the Krissi it is a easy target for faster moving interceptor craft. The hull is lined with triple armor and all main systems are encased in their own armored pods and set internally in another armored section of the hull. The weak wing section have been covered in a mesh tritanium to help strengthen the wings.The mix of cellulose and tritanium work together to give the Krissii an average hull rating of 50 RU

Shields: Moderate. As shields go the Krissi's 4 LD-30 Shield Projectors can work alone or in tandem to give the craft four levels of protection. These shield generators can all be adapted to project in any direction. generally the Krissii will use two projectors with the shields centered giving her a shield strength of 120 SBD all four can be engaged to give the craft a shield rating of 240 SBD but this is at a price to power and speed.

Weapons: Very High. The true power of the Krissii is in the Pods on each wing. These pods contain 4 Missile Launch tubes. Internally the pods contain an armored case for a small payload of missiles. Generally the load out is 6 Concussion missiles and 10 Charge Energy Net Missiles. But any form of missile can be launched from the Pods. In addition the Krissii had a twin Mazor Cannon mounted to the dorsal underside of the Main hull. This large mount can be a problem for almost any target. Final the wings are fitted with twin Charric Cannons. These disruptor type weapons cause damage both with heat and energy like the standard laser. they also cause some degree of kinetic damage as the disruptor field acts as a small projectile when fired and when striking a target.

Sensors: A full sensor suite is installed which runs off a standard RF scan and a feed from NavSats spread out over the sector. It can hide behind a small rock or debris and fire indirectly at its targets using the NavSat up-link. This drastically increases the crew survivability and aids in maintaining a secretive and almost ominous myth of the Chiss alive.

Countermeasures: Two flare pods are placed on either side of the main ion Exhaust. They have a payload of 20 flares each. In addition another flare pod is installed on the top of the main hull just forward of the twin atmospheric stabilizers. A pair of small drones fit under each wing next to the main hull. These drones are programmed to track incoming missiles and intercede between the missile and the Krissii. They are very effective in this task but can only be used twice since the drone is destroyed when destroying the missile. Two Chaff pods are installed on the aft of the Wing pods. Each Pod has 6 chaff charges.

Development History: The Krissii is the latest in a long line of Chiss heavy Fighters. The hull is much like the fighters Thrawn used so many years ago to destroy the outbound flight mission. This latest design is purely a Lash Designs draft. After his expulsion from the ascendancy Lash began developing new technology and working to aid the people of the Elysi Sector.

Wes, it seems to me to be the equivalent of an [URL=http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/AssaultGunboat.html]Assault Gunboat[/URL] in terms of size, power, and overall concept.

The NavSat thing seems very similar, if not the same type of technology used by another canon Chiss ship, the [URL=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nssis-class_Clawcraft]Nssiss-class Clawcraft[/URL].

As far as the power of the charric cannons, [URL=http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/A-9Vigilance.html]A-9s [/URL] are described in sources as using a pair of dual heavy turbolaser cannons as their armament, so it's not completely unfeasible.

As long as it's not used as an uber-craft, I don't think anyone will have problems with it.

looks good to me and I'm sure it will be played well. That's all that really matters. It's just a blastboat like ship and those had a large loadout on them.

Most extensivlty in systems controled and freindly to Lash and his people. Basiclly the Tirest system from the start. But As Lash will be working for Stellar A small network would be installed in Stellar Ent. Holding.
We can also deploy sats around a system we are attcking like mines more or less.

As for the Mazors they are cannon on Chiss heavy Fighters. I just adapted this craft to use here at TRF It is mearly an adaptation of a cannon ship. Not alot of data is given on the Chiss Heavy Fighter but weapons it one of them. It has Mazers and Missile Batteries. I added the charrics for a use aginst other fighter class ships. It has about the same mass as 2 K-wings so I am sure power isn't an issue. That being said I am sure it dosnt have the fire rate of a wepon mounted to a cruiser. Iam sure the Mazers have a recharge period for the Caps powering them.

Twin turbolasers on a gunship? That's stretching it a bit, I think. Though with proper limitations (i.e., slow-firing because of the drain on the engines, or firing drains shields of some power, or firing temporarily drains the other weapons of their charge and they have to be recharged before firing, etc.) it should be fine.

Alright, the hyperdrive thing works fine then. Thanks for explaining. I didn't know about the NavStat thing. On that, though, how widespread are you thinking this network is? Just within Chiss space?

The hyperdrive system has a computer but it is a secondary backup system. The main Hyperdrive is fed constant navigational data from NavSat beacons. Basically a series of satellites laid out all over a sector feed constant data to each other linking them in a web like network. A NavSat Hyperdrive is linked into what ever sector Navsat network the craft is in. So instead of a computer having to plot a course the NavSat network already has the plot from any destination to any other ready to access. Chiss Hyperdrives are way behind Imperial and other known worlds drives. So they developed this system to assist with hyperspace jumps. I has the advantage of allowing a ship the ability to Micro Jump. But is still slow and a ship much stop in each new sector to get on the next network. In sectors where the NavSats have not been placed the craft or vessel has to rely on the secondary Computer for hyperspace Navigation. Which is basically a Class x3 Hyperdrive.

It is more gunship than fighter. At 22 meters wide and 16 meter long its big. It is Slow and it is tough. Its made to be a support craft for fighters and smaller ships. A Mazor is a large Charric weapon. On the underside of the hull is a twin forward firing mazer emplacement. Think of it as a twin Turbolaser but Blue. The there are the Charric Canons. Think of them as lasers. Chiss Laser Tech is not as good as most so they developed weapons based on Disruptor Technology. A charric is a Charged energy Disruptor. It fired a plasma contained energy bolt like a laser but the plasma encasement is alot thicker. This makes up for the less powerful laser bolt by adding alot more kinetic energy than a laser. It uses the Kinetic energy to make the weapon about the same power as a standard Energy laser bolt weapon but burns and scorched more and has more penetration because of the kinetic factor.

I'm confused about the hyperdrive. Why doesn't it need a computer to plot a course? It seems like that would be devastating to the ship, since, as Han Solo so eloquently put it, miscalculate and you could wind up flying through a planet or a star.

Since planets and stars are always in motion, precise calculations are needed for travel through hyperspace. That's why a navcomputer, an astromech, or a brilliant mathematical brain (e.g., Piggy from the X-Wing series) is needed to travel through hyperspace. Whether Jedi can do so without a plotted course is a subject of controversy, but certainly a mere mortal who cannot touch the Force cannot do so.

That said, could I get a bit more explanation on this bit of technology? How does it work? Are the jump points pre-plotted, thereby allowing an astromech or internal computer to automatically update the jump course?


EDIT: I also think the weapon loadout might be a bit high. That's 8 missile tubes, a twin Mazer cannon (which I'm not sure what a Mazer cannon is), and two twin Charric cannons. I guess if you limit the payload of each tube, sure, but if you're using six concussion missiles and 10 energy whatevers per tube, I'm really starting to think your fighter should be upgraded to a gunship and gunship size. If it's 6 and 10 total, that's better.
