After the Unyielding Victory-class Fleet Destroyers, the Glorious Ascendant-class Heavy Cruisers are the largest class of ships in the Atlantean Fleet. Two forms of this design exist: the stock cruiser, and a carrier version. The carrier design features a larger crew complement, about 500 more crewmen, 90% of which are fighter operations personnel. also, her shields are slightly stronger. The Glorious Ascendant-class did suffer from power fluctuations when transiting to Sliplight, a problem that was overcome by the addition of two more reactors. In service with the Atlantean Navy for over 4,000 years, these ships are among the oldest in the Empire. Only 10 of these ships are in use today, and are known for their durability. One well-known phrase sprouted from this legendary toughness: "They take a lickin' and keep on tickin' . . . and tickin' . . . and tickin' . . . and . . ." (it just keeps repeating on and on for all of eternity)

It is worth noting that none of the Glorius Ascendant-class Heavy Cruisers/Carriers currently in service are over 150 years old. The oldest vessels have either been retired or scrapped. Only the design has been in service for over 4,000 years.

Done. BTW, Wilkar, love the Sig.

#38 8:21pm 14/12/06

Yes, and it's starting to piss me off.

#37 6:57pm 14/12/06

Yeah. theres a thought ^_^

my advice: start with 1 planet (take a very small outer rim one) and build a small 500-meter ship for your flagship.

anyone noticed ive said this 4 times in seperate threads?

The empire your making does not exsist yet, so stop doing R&D's until you have members and are even at a stage in your empire's development to create such ships. Start from the beginning. My recommendation for the mods is to just delete any R&D's he puts up into the future until he gets the point that he has to start from the beginning. That way these things don't become so long in trying to tell him that he is wrong.

Actually that line is directly from the original. If it is omitted from a movie, it would be absent in monstrosity that Johnny Depp tried to bring to the big screen.

Gene Wilder is the man. No questions asked. No exceptions, no excuses.

#34 12:47am 14/12/06

Oh, I remember that part now. Granted, I only saw the original, and I don't think that line was in there, but I do remember the "fizzy lifting drink."

#33 12:46am 14/12/06

For a class name, I'd shorten it to one word. Otherwise it can get confusing. But other than that it seems perfectly fine to me.

Oh, btw, I don't think everyone hates you now that you've agreed to drop the Atlantean idea. Though I wouldn't be trying anything grandiose anytime soon. Try joining an existing faction and RPing with them, under their tutelage. You might learn something.

#32 12:42am 14/12/06

Cool. What do you think of the class name (for the ship)?

#31 12:36am 14/12/06

Quote from Willy Wonka. You'd have to see the movie to know.

#30 12:35am 14/12/06

I understand. Let's close this thread and delete it . . . for now. I'll test the waters later, when people may be more responsive. The same for my other Atlantean ship post, and the shipbuilding post. I would like to leave the Atlantean Empire thread open (the one in the Battlegrounds), as it leads into the Fortune Hunters post, and because people seem to like the writing in it. Could we leave it as an experiment of some kind? Sorry for all the problems. The rules should be a little clearer regarding the creation of factions. BTW, what do you guys think about the name of the ship class? Just curious. Oh, and what in seven hells is a "fizzy lifting drink?"

#29 12:29am 14/12/06

You stole fizzy lifting drink! You lose! Good day sir!

Seriously man, I've been following this "Antlantean" thing since the beginning. This place is so expansive and full of so many RPing oppertunities. But you kinda don't get it. There has to be certian rules. Reading them is wonderful, as is the comments by other people.

I'm suggesting to take their advice and don't post for a while and read through the post in the OOC forum section a couple times through and let it sink in.

#28 12:27am 14/12/06

Because you are not only in the SW universe. You are in the TRF universe. Star Wars may be open-ended; TRF is not. Get the picture?

#27 12:25am 14/12/06

Oh, and I am not here to deliberately screw-up your forum. I'm only confused as to why a universe that seems pretty open-ended, is so limited.

#26 12:24am 14/12/06

Let these be general R&D postings, then, as I have no wish to form a fleet at this time. I only want one fleet in one group (the Angelus II-class Dreadnought for the Fortune Hunters, which are a mercenary group I wish to form. I already have a post in the OOC forums for them). The Atlantean posts are just a storyline in a separate government for people to try. Oh, and people do seem to like the A280K post. I have some ideas for modified canon ships, as well as some new weapons, but they are completely SW-ready. I will cease development of Atlantean warships, and their threads can be deleted. If anybody who reads my Atlantean posts wishes for the specs on anything in there, they can contact me. This has been just too much of a headache. And I though Star Trek RPers were canon-bound . . .

#25 12:03am 14/12/06

It should be noted that my above comment was restricted to the R&D forums; to suggest that InuYasha, of its own volition, cease all posting in the R&D forum as, clearly, it has not demonstrated the right to post here (no formal faction application, no planetary holdings, no faction status). The exception would be if these were simply General R&D's, but that would be totally useless as I understand InuYasha to be desirous of it's own fleet.
