A280K Fleet Carbine

The A280K Fleet Carbine is designed to give troopers the punch of the A280, but in a package that is less cumbersome in close-quarters. This weapons would be carried by officers assigned to landing parties, commandos operating in urban environments, and security detachments aboard ship. Stock model would have a four position fire selector: SAFE, SEMI, BURST, AUTO. Semi-auto offers greater accuracy, but a lower rate of fire. Automatic fire is limited to only 5 seconds, and it drains the power pack considerably, although the Heavy Weapons variant uses a larger powerpack, or can feed from a "battery backpack." The A280K would also be available in several variants.

Variants
Marksman - 4x scope, semi- and automatic firing only, bipod
CQC - 1x red dot scope, suppressor, flash hider,
Recon - 2x scope, holo-imager
Heavy Weapons - 2x scoper, automatic firing only, grenade launcher/shotgun
Infiltrator - Reflex holo-sight, detachable stock, shorter barrel, holo-imager

Flash hider diverts the muzzle flash laterally, thus preventing blindness when looking through the scope.

I'm not entirely sure how the suppressor would work . . . any ideas?

Aaaaah, I get it now. Cool. Is everyone cool with the "Heavy Weapons" variant? I've been considering removing that version of it, since the whole "backpack" thing totally defeats the purpose of a carbine. What do y'all think?

Beff is saying you shouldn't have to worry about saying how many shots a power pack can hold and such because defining such things will just cause arguments later on when they go into action against another group.

wtf . . . ?

You guys are, just so you're aware, totally shooting yourselves in the feet. But have fun with that.

Beth Puke: "No, your troops use the Bubble Gum Blaster and you wrote a full volley of fire and now you have to stop and reload."

Bender Dugson: "Reloading is for fleeting!"

Beth Puke: "You wrote the R&D, dumbass."
What is the total-fire capacity of an energy-magazine?
I can't speak for the R&D, but the regular Blastech A280 has a 100 shots (same as other standard blaster rifles). I'm going to guess that they're pretty close.

As for a basic flash suppressor to reduce the size of the flash, that would be fairly standard. For example, the "Epel'jaken "Razor" series MX Heavy Blaster Pistol" is noted for having a rather large, silver flash suppressor at its end.

I am guessing that it is an energy weapon? If it is a projectile weapon, how do many rounds can it hold? What is the total-fire capacity of an energy-magazine

Seems pretty good, I just have a little problem with the autofire function. These weapons are powerful, meaning that they generate a lot of heat. If you want to have a fast fire rate, I would post how you hope to achieve this without damaging the weapon. Perhaps you have a limiter that only allows rapid fire for a few seconds before it triggers the weapon off and it can't be fired for like 5 or more seconds to cool down. You should also probably post that autofire drains the powerpack quickly, unless you create a portable power generator kinda like the ones used for e-web blasters. These heavy packs could be worn by the soldiers and provide the weapon with enough juice, but be bulky and somewhat heavy as a trade off.

Also how does the suppressor work and the flash hider. These are some new features and it would be useful to have a description of these so everyone knows how they work :-). Just some comments.
