Shield Systems:

Enviromental Sen - The Enviromental Sen is a six layer shield system that blocks all forms of radiation and other hazardious material. The first three layers are created to be a 'repulser' field that repulse's objects out of the ships path, mostly asteroids since that's it's operating area.The shield also acts as a temporary combat barrier. While it's not strong enough to withstand under constant fire, it's enough to where the ship can hyper out with minimal damage. While standard ships use a standard enviromental shield, this ship use's this shield so that it can operate in some of the most hazardious enviroments. Including, but not limited to, fast moving asteriod fields, deadly nebulas, and close to the sun if not just off the surface.

PSS-12 Reinforcer - Technology installed by the Stellar Enterprise. This shield use's projectors to project shields over long distances, upto several thousands of kilomters away. It can divide the ships over several ships and help to reinforce there original shields. This could be done to ships under heavy fire in order to prevent their destruction.

Both shield systems work in conjunction with one another, allowing the Seren's to project the ES over large distances to help protect even there smaller light mining drones. However, this still doesn't mean they can't be destroyed by a large fast moving asteroid or other 'unforeseen' 'problems'

Description:

The Sahvion Class Mining Frigate is the Serendivus's answer to the ever growing problem in the lack of proper mining sites. The frigate is long and sleek, it's shape and size are deceptive and make it appear bigger than it really is.

The primary crew quarters for all personnel are located toward the back of the ship while the main hanger bay and launch tubes for the numerious droids on board are located toward the ground and on the 'fins'

The frigate's main purpose is for mining operations within dangerous area's that a normal, typical, mining ship would not be able to handle.

The Ship is not that heavily armed as it's not made to go into combat. It's shields are specifically made to protect it against the corona of a sun or the harshness of a deadly nebula

While it's not really made for combat the ship is, however, made for mining asteroid fields and off of small moons. The ships large drone bay is capible of holding over a thousand drones, including the industrial and defense drones.

The Light Mining Drone isn't armed with the shield technology that the main frigate is armed with. There for in order for it to mine inside of an asteroid while in a corrosive nebula or near a sun, the ship must attach a 'shield guard' over the asteroid using the shield drones that it has on hand.

Basically - the light mining drone has the smallest bay and the fastest means of extracting resources, this drone has enough power to stay outside of the frigate for up to four hours, but it lacks the shields of it's big brother and sister.

The Medium Mining drone is armed with the Enviromental Sen shield system which allows it to operate away from the frigate at a fair distance. The Medium drone is armed with the tools for mining but also has one small laser cannon for firing against rogue asteroids. It lacks the cargo capacity of the heavy mining drone, making it so that it can only extract resources for up to six hours before it must return to the main ship.

Basically - the medium mining drone has a medium sized bay and the slowest mineral mining laser, but it has the shields to stay out longer than it's younger version.

The Heavy Mining Drone has the largest bay and the fastest mineral extracting laser, it's the size of a very light corvette making the drone itself only 120 meters long. Due to there size they are attached to the side of the frigate on both the upper, lower and side sections. The HMD is also armed with the Enviromental Sen shield system and is the only drone that is actually able to operate right up close and personel to a sun without fear of being destroyed. It's to large to operate within an asteroid, which is why this is used for collecting minerals on the surface of an asteroid or within a nebula.

The front part of the ship is where the hanger bays for the drone are located, while the middle section is where crew quarters and the external hanger bays for the ore transports can be found. The back of the frigate is the location of both shield systems.

The Ship is not equiped with a refinary, so mining operations depend solely on the ore transports to be constantly going back and forth from the main shipyard as the frigate is not equiped to hold to much mined ore. It is, however, able to break down some of the minerals for use as fuel. In this case if the frigate is located near a gas giant or a sun, it'll use a heavy mining drone to collect fuel from the top layer of the planet for use as fuel for the frigate.

The defense grid on board this ship was created to destroy rogue asteroids that present a threat to the ship and it's crew. One of the main functions for the shield systems is that it creates an angled projection that allows for asteroids to 'bounce' off the shield and away from the ship. In some cases the shields 'repulsor' abilities might not be able to protect the ship, thats when the defense grid come's into play and blasts the asteroid into smaller peices. This has a two fold effect. The first being that it elimanates the threat to the ship, but the second effect is that it provides more resources for the mining drones.

Deployment Directive:

This Frigate must be within hyper range of a friendly station, shipyard, refining base or mobile refinary in order to operate at peek effiency. In the event an enemy fleet is detected in the area, the ships escorts, which consist of several(8) gunboats and two squads of X-wings will engage the threat whlie the frigate come's about and collects it's drones before hypering out of the system.

In the event the frigate become's boarded the captain will vent the whole ship - minus the bridge - out into space. The type of materal used on the ships decks is demagnitized due to the minerals it collects, this makes it impossible for someone to use magenetic boats onboard ship.

This ship is non-combat, it's main weapons aren't powerful enough to destroy anything larger than a small fighter craft, and despite the shield system installed by Stellar Enterprise, it's still not able to hold it's own against more than a small squad of fighters.
