By the way, Excalibur is already a name being used in an existing Hapan R&D. I really don't give a shit, just thought you should know.

And before anyone gets mired in numbers games; here's the Beffster to rain on the parade.

The rules don't care. RU, STD, HIV... whatever, we really don't care. It's all well and good if you want supplementally add these things but the days of number wars are over done and gone. Don't dwell on such things but rather divert your attentions to the substance of the thing, such as your RP portion or the body of the R&D submission.

And remember, it's your choice and not one you can impose upon other members. Numbers are fun and fine but what counts is application. Use.

Mr. Stellar is correct, actually. An ISD Mk I is rated at 2272 RU.

It's important to note that hull values are NOT linear. The RU function is actually exponential if you compare ships of all sizes. They can be calculated linearly fairly accurately if the said ships are within 1/7 of each other.

alright go with 1000 or more, it doesn't really matter right as long its played out fairly

#11 1:46am 22/09/06

I've never heard of an ISDs being that low.

The RU value varies from design to design. For example, if this was somewhat similar in nature to a Carrack, the hull would indeed by lower. 1000 RU is reasonably good considering it's parameters. The Strike-class has a 1522 RU hull after all and the Belarus-class, which is slightly smaller and similarly armed still has a 1700 RU hull with 1900 SBD shields.

ISDs are around 2,227 or close to that, so 1000 is kinds high unless you have specialized hulls, but its alright with me if its ok with everyone. I'll be building them so I dont mind lol

1000 is pretty good from what I know. It's about normal for that size.

#7 1:07am 22/09/06

I think 1000 is a little high if he is using regular hull designs. for 455 meters I'd say around 750-800 would be pretty good.

Up it to say 1000 RU. I think that is still maybe a little low, but it won't get contested as being too strong. And you have to do a 500 word RP for each of your R&Ds describing it, how it is used, its strengths/weakness (though this appears to be a more well rounded ok at everything, but not amazing in any one thing, which is fine). So you might want to start working on that for your R&Ds.

Okay, I changed it. Thanks guys! I hope it is better, if not, then your effort has been futile and I have failed you all!

#4 11:50pm 21/09/06

The size is fine, your hull is still ridiculously low. I'd up it. Look at similar sized R&Ds for what would be a suitable hull rating.

#3 11:43pm 21/09/06

Tis what I told him as well.

#2 11:43pm 21/09/06

That is what a few other people said. Alright, I will change it.

Should I change the size, or was just part of the strike cruiser example?

I suggest a shield and hull armor increase. As it currently stands, a single Tie Defender has more shield power than a single one of your cruisers. For example, the Strike Cruiser, whose picture you used and which has a very similar size, has a 2560 SBD rating.
