Quantum Bridge Device

Never able to leave well enough alone, Daemun science has distorted another technology from its baseline use to suit our ever demanding needs on a galactic scope. The Arbiter, Cree'Ar technology far advanced over the common hyperdrive unit, has not only provided our space fleets with a far more ranging form of transportation, but as well as a creative hole with which to progress our own technological stasis in the field of Intra-Galactic Transportation.

The Arbiter delivered to our Empire from the Cree'Ar has been analyzed, disassembled and duplicated in such a manner that its basic operations and devices have been documented, studied and understood. With these basic precepts of useable wormhole creation technology at our disposal we were then able to further our own working model of the quantum universe by probing the products of our test devices and their effects on spacial matter.

Through these tests we have been able to create not only our own wormhole creation device, but to simplify the process, streamline it and make it a much stronger and safer method of travel than having to rely on alien vessels for support. Our new device is capable of creating a hole in space with a disk nearly a thousand meters in radius, allowing for our largest ships travel, even then it can be resized to more exacting specifications if the need should arise. Although our Intelligence web would keep all our devices updated on locations of our own systems and locations for wormhole creation, but the unexpected and need for some unknowns must be accounted for, thus the devices themselves are made up of a similar item such as the 5-jump hyperspace system equiped on Farfalen ships in that the creation of a hole can be made from one position to another without first knowing the end point by judging against the mass and energy of the dark matter used in the holes creation as provide for its depth and distance.

A second, defensive use, is a wormhole device that targets vessels, creating a micro-wormhole around them, forcing them to another location predescribed by the targeting vessel (short ranged/Systems width). This quick and less prepared for method of use requires at least two minutes of prep time in order to be fully operational and not destroy such device itself.

Defensive Use:

No more than one quantum bridge device can be used on a single object in a single post, whether sucessful or not. Therefore, only one device may be used per turn, no matter how many are present. Example: Two vessels with Quantum Bridge Devices onboard target a two distinct frigates for displacement, only one could be fired; or two vessels armed with the device target the same frigate for displacement, again oly one could fire during one turn.

The quantum bridge device does not effect and is not effected by maneuvers in that sudden stops, turns or erratic maneuvering will not cease the devices operation or effect. The displaced unit would continue movement as previously noted pre-displacement with the exception that it would be displaced a distance from its original position. Displacement does not change the facing of the targeted unit.

Seeking weapons, such as torpedos and missles and their ilk, will continue to follow their target even if displaced, assuming that the displaced unit is still within range and weapons tracking ability. Displacement into an asteroid field, planetary ring or minefield is not necessarily movement into or through and does not, itself, cuase damage (or a mine to trigger). Further movement will (or might) cuase such damage (or triggering) from natural debries (or mines). Tractor beams can be broken by displacement.

Quantum Bridge Device Feedback is a mysterious phenomenon regarding ships equiped with such devices, and only those with. Due to the destabilizing effects of the device, it would be harmful for more than two ships equipped with them to operate in the same area. If three ships used their devices in a given area, it would create a rip in the fabric of space, sending all three (and nothing else) to their doom. The term 'area' can generaly be considered to be the scope of battle at a specified area. A single exception to this rule has been identified as a starbase with equiped devices are able to be operated with two other operating ships in the area. If more than two vessels equiped with the device are in the same area and one is destroyed or leaves the scope of battle, after five minutes (five posts) the third vessel may begin utilizing its device without fear.

The following units can be displaced: ships, shuttles, fighter craft, torpedos, missles, mines, satellites, drones and all like items

The following units can't be displaced: stars, asteroids, black holes, bases on planets, meteors, starbases, *certain docked units*, units inside each other or cloaked units, Construction Yards, Shipyards

*Two or more externally docked units are all displaced as a single ship. In the case of a ship docked to a unit that cannot be displaced, it itself cannot be displaced. A ship landed on, but not docked to, a location on a planet can be displaced off of a planet. This does not work in reverse.
