Description:

The Lancer class Frigate is or was the Empire's answer to the problem posed by Rebel starfighters. The blocky frigate was studded with anti-starfighter laser cannon emplacements, and has a high top speed needed for engaging quick swarms of enemy starfighters. The cruiser was introduced during the Galatic Civil War, and has been in service with the Empire for many years, although never produced in large numbers due to the expensiveness of the frigate. Several are sometimes found in planetery defense fleets and pirate armadas. One frigate of note is the Ravager, destroyed combating the very ships she was designed to fight, the X-wings of Rogue Squadron and the three Y-wing Squadrons of General Salm's Defender Wing.
