Description:
The Fury is designed as the next generation of TNO Gunship support technology, incorporating a few new ideas and innovations and combining them with older and more reliable technology to make a formidable opponent for any adversary. First and foremost, the gunship is of average size of two hundred meters, smaller than the Rapier-II line but larger than the Intrepid line. It is roughly similar in disposition and appearance to the older CEC gunships but with a larger cyndrilical body. The bridge is located in the forward department, while the central department contains the shield generators and projectors, while the last compartment contains the power core and drive engines. Connecting the three compartments together are two roughly squarish blocks where most of the ship's weapons are mounted. The X-5 Turbolaser Batteries are a simple adaptation of weapons already in service. Each weapon has four barrels mounted in a single gunhouse, with two barrels side by side. There are three modes of fire. The first mode is solid fire, where all four barrels fire at the same time. This is also the slowest rate of fire. The second mode of fire is medium, where each pair of barrels takes turn firing while the other one recharges. This produces the normal rate of fire. The last mode is rapid fire, where each individual barrel fires once at a time, producing the fastest rate of fire but also reducing the accuracy and damage inflicted by each bolt. Normally the last mode is only used against small ships and large starfighters. These weapons are mounted four to port and four to starboard, two each side by side on one of the block struts, with the final two being mounted on the bow, side by side. Next up are the firestorm quad laser cannons, repeats of the same excellent models used on the Rapier-II class gunships. These weapons are mounted two each on top and bottm of the block struts, with four more on top, bottom, port, and starboard of the shield compartment. Lastly, but not least, two pulse ion cannon projectors, weapons that send out a steady stream of ion cannon energy for thirty seconds while taking a minute to recharge, are located one each to port and staboard on the bridge compartment. Moving on, the ship has no hangar bay, and has a small detachement of forty naval troopers for ship borne defence. The Propulsion is utterly standard, a bit slow for a gunship, but that's because this vessel's main purpose is to escort larger capital ships or convoys, both which are normally slower than even this vessel's speed. The vessel does retain a manueverability and rotating capability that far exceeds of those made by large capital ships. The hyperdrive speed was boosted a bit for the ship to act as a first response vessel to ships and planets that send out distress signals. The protection is another innovation, primarily in response to the damage inflicted by particle cannons to Imperial ships over Tynna. First, the shields have multipule layers, each layer seperated from another by a distance of five meters. The layers get progressivley stronger the closer to the ship they are. The reason for this is to slow and then stop the penetration qualities of solid objects rather than giving them a single layer which they could barrel straight through. The shields are calculated to cause the particle shots to explode at the second layer, and for their energy to be mostly absorbed by the third, strongest shield layer. The outer layer has a rating of 200 SBD, while the middle layer a rating of 300 SBD, while the last layer has a rating of 500 SBD. The hull has also been changed, incorporating a double hull feature, each one having a rating of 250 RU. In between the hulls is a thick padding layer of fire-dousing foam, there to help cool down the outer hull to the molten effects of the super heated particle cannon shots. And that rounds out the Fury class Gunship.

No more than you would any other pulse weapon. About a one to two minute charge period.

Do you have to charge the Pulse Ion Cannons first?
