Propulsion:
Four Medium-Large Vladician Sublight Drive Engines, powered by a single VSD-grade Drive Core.

Armament:
16 Medium Turbolaser Batteries (Located in two sponsons, one to central starboard, the other to central port, eight turbolaser batteries per a sponson. Angle of fire includes maximum straight forward, straight aft, straight up, straight down, and all in between.)
8 Medium Ion Batteries (Located on a single sponson, location central dorsal. Can fire at an upwards angle of 45 degrees to port, starboard, and all angles in between, as well as slightly to bow and aft).
30 Capital Ship-Grade Proton Torpedo Launchers. (Located in two clusters, both topside in bridge sponson, one facing to port, one facing to starboard).
8 Tractor Beam Projectors. (Located forward, two top, two bottom, each hangar bay entrance).

Shield Capacity:
Four Generators, all located aft, two port, two starboard. One set on each side are for partical shields, and the other set to Ray Shields. Particle Shields provide first layer, Ray shields second. Full power strength for Particle Shield Generators are 1600 SBD, full power for Ray Shields are 400 SBD.

Hull Capacity:
Double Hull seperated by expandable steel beams. First layer is made of platinum armour, the second standard durasteel armour. Reason for double hull is mainly for extra security in case of proton torpedo strikes. The second use is for extra stability, in case of extreme heat, when the beams tighten, reducing pressure on the hull, and in extreme coldness, when the beams are expanded. Also helps maintain stability in Gravity wells, high gravity planets, and other unknown potential dangers in which, in case the outer hull being breached, the inner hull would be the only protection. Strength of outer-hull: 3000 RU. Strength of inner-hull: 500 RU.

Hangar Capacity:

The Medium Cruiser has two hangar bays, one to port ventral, the other to starboard ventral. Each hangar bay can hold up to one TIE Fighter Squadron and four Sentinel class Shuttles.

Troop Capacity:

In case of riots, or other needs of troops, the Ferro is equipped with facilites to handle long term deployment to the cruiser of a full battalion of 450 Stormtroopers and 50 Army Officers, along with a detachment of speeder bikes and Chariot LAVs, and some small forms of artillery.

Crew Capacity:

There are two full ship crews, being rotated in eight hour shifts daily, and on standby in case members of the offduty crew are needed to replace members on the on duty crew in case of accident, or casualties during a battle. Standard Crew: 500 gunners, 2,000 sailors, 1,000 technicians, 500 engineers, 100 officers.

Ship Layout:

Main Hull:
Forward Area: Topside: This area is entirely devoted to food stores, living and entertainment quarters for embarked crews and troops, and meeting rooms, breifing rooms, mess halls, cafeterias, etc.
Bottomside: This area is devoted to the two hangar bays, and in between carries spare parts for the Fighters and Shuttles, as well as loading-unloading equipment, and other miscelleanous things.
Central Area: Topside: This area is devoted to an armoury for the infantry weaponry, vehicle storage for the speeders and Chariots, and proton torpedo storage, as well as spare tibanna gas cores for the turbolasers, and ionic energy chargers for the ion cannons. Also, spare equipment to repair or upgrade the engines can be found here.
Bottomside: This area is devoted to power sources for the weaponry and shield generators.
Aft Area: Topside: This area is devoted to Engineering Rooms for the Engines.
Bottomside: This area is devoted to the Drive Core for the Engines, and Hyperdrive.
Wings: Each wing located on either side contains the sponsons for the turbolaser batteries, as well as additional weapons emplacements if needed. (see below).

Other Notes:

Two hollow spines run the length of the ship, these are horizontal hovertubes for transportation needs along the length of the ship.

TNO-specifics:

In additon to the turbolaser batteries, each winged portion of the ship also has additional small sponsons upon which are mounted triple-barrel laser gattling cannons and flechette launchers in order to deal with the threats of incoming missiles and torpedoes. Also, line of sight lasers, for use in last ditch communications, as well as for confusing incoming missiles, are mounted.
The shielding programming has been expanded to include Rapid Reflex Shield Augularities that allowed the shielding crewers to shift the shields faster in response to enemy focusing attacks or a sudden need of shield power in a certain location.
The ship's overall power structre has been augemented with Rerouter stations that allow quick transfer of power from one subsystem to another for an urgent reason or not.

Mission Overview:

The Ferro class Medium Cruiser was developed as an advanced version of the Strike class Medium Cruiser, being a simple straightforward design that would allow for faster than normal construction, and basic costs, as well as several other advantages. The ship is designed for either the fleet support role, in which case it's speed would allow fast flanking attacks to be executed, or it's armour and shields would allow it to sustain damage that normal ships could not. It's armament is weak for a vessel of this size, but is concentrated in single clusters to provide maximum concentration of firepower, and thusly, damage. Although it has no anti-starfighter weapons of it's own, it does carry two squadrons of starfighters as well as eight shuttles in it's hangar bays. It also carries enough crew provisions to allow long independent operations of the main battle fleet, either against enemy commerce, or patrolling the border regions and space lanes, ready to response to a nearby emergency if need be, thus living up to it's desigantion as a cruiser. The vessel was designed to complement, not merely replace, the Strike and Belarus class cruisers, and is sure to be a vital component to future Imperial operations.
