During the Rebellion's control over the Yavin moons, much effort was put into the research and development of new terraforming methods to be used on its moons and new planets. Out of such projects arose ships such as the Reclamator, as well as more unconventional craft such as the Mole Hole Drill. Rebellion R&D produced a special capital ship capable of acting as a mobile terraforming facility for such projects, allowing them to field test their prototype vessel while observing it firsthand. This was a great boon to the development of more effective methods, as it not only drastically cut down on the lag between Research and Development and the results of experimental tests, but also allowed the Rebellion to do live testing on their worlds and gauge their actual effectiveness. These mobile terraforming carriers were relatively uncommon, however; usually, only one or two existed at any one time, with a lifespan of several years meaning that there were merely a few dozen of these capital ships in existence.
The "Reclamator" Mobile Planetary Terraformer is the latest idea of the New Rebellion R&D department. The Reclamator was based off of the venerable Imperail-class Star Destroyer chassis. Its appearance from a top-down view is of a truncated wedge, with the first 450 meters of the craft sliced off.
There are 5 modified tractors to pull apart asteroids into smaller chunks that can enter the Reclamator. A hole approximately 300 meters in width allows broken up pieces of asteroid to pass into the ship's interior. There, the power of the fusion reactor is put to the test. 500 plasma drills, each with a specific target, drill into each asteroid chunk, breaking it up further. These drills are powered directly from the reactor, and have a specially designed cooling system, comprised of Freezium chemical concentrate running through a tube system, to keep the drills running as fast as possible and as long as possible.
To separate the nescessary ores and elements from the rest of the useless rock, the bits of asteroid pass through a mineral separation system, where ore detectors scan the chunks inside and out. The remaining pieces of useless rock pass through what was once the center engine on an ISD, to float off into space. The size of these chunks are typically fist-sized or smaller, thanks to the innovative system through which ore is gathered. The atypical pieces, which can end up being 20 meters to 40 meters, are blasted to smaller pieces with the 4 aft turbolasers. The other turbolasers are used primarily for self defense, primarily against those asteroids/comets located around the vessel, as one of the main points of the Reclamator is its ability to travel independently.
Additional room in the vessels design has been added for ore and particilate storage as well as bays for specific planetary needs in terraforming efforts. Crew quarters and life support systems have been completely removed, all military or civilian portions of the ship have been removed for improved planetary requirements. The ship is controled mostly on its own from problem/response programing. Computers aboard the Reclamator-Class vessel are pre-set to create a set stable enviro for a set species given a worlds outset. These computers then use scanner data and constantly updated readings to control its own terraforming efforts without outside interferance. Onboard maintanance is preformed by low level droids (ASP, J9 Worker Drone, MN-2E General maintenance droid, ect).
The Reclamator uses a vast multitude of galactic standard, yet all slightly modified from their original versions, droids of wide reknown. First among these is the M38 Explorer Droid, used primarily in the reconnoitering of hostile enviroments. While not differing much from the galactic standard model, the M38 models used aboard the Reclamator have been adapted for multiple enviormental hazarads (such as aqua, high temperment, deep soil), as well as the addition of a repulsar lift to aid in travel accross unruley surfaces. All of these models are held inside their own five meter shuttles which merely drop their load on the selected world, then attain synch orbit transmitting all data from the droid directly back to the Reclamator's data core.
Obviously, one of the most useful, and one of the easiest to attain droids, to be used in the field would be the Decon Droid of old. Most noteable in their use at Honoghr, these droids are a slow method of attaining specific enviormental reactions in a set range of effect where deployed. These droid replace not only Algea of old that would be used to cleanse the soil and and free arieal space of harmful toxins and replace them with the useful gases and neutrients neccessary for planetary settlement, but also serve the process more efficently and require less maintanance. The modifications made to these newer models has been designed to operate on the intake of enviorment and output of necessary base gases, in addition to the soil recycling systems. Serving such as the same porpouse as the original Decon units, the 11-17 Miner Droid has been replaced as a miner droid and has become closer to a tiller droid, processing and recycling the soil from its deepest points underground. A much larger version of the very same droid has also been built, created to dig multiple moholes in the crust of a world to create great vents of hot gas in order to speed up atmosphere production as well as surface heating.
Among these droids would disperse limited lifespan bacterium (Cyanidium caldarium) to eat away at low atmospheric conditions in CO2 rich enviroments and other thick heavy atmospheric elements. These bacterium would be enfused into basic algae formations and grown in test tube conditions before released on a planets surface. The resultant oxygen would form ozone at high altitudes. Ozone absorbs UV radiation, and this process could conceivably bring down high temperatures down to something comparable to human standard enviroments.
On the opposite spectrum, the tractors of the vessel have been implemented with increased range and power in order to grapple with larger sized asteroids/comets in order to not only feed them into its own resource collector, but also in the process of smashing them int base particlate planetside. For planets short of water, comets have an abundant supply, and with a small nudge they could ultimately be deflected into a planets path.Such an impact could briefly alter the global temperature and make work possible in otherwise impossible environments, as well as adding global elements not previously found.
Incorporated amongst the ships hull is an enourmous planetary mirror array. These mirrors are used in the heating up of cold worlds or deflecting the suns/solar effect on a world. The base use of these arrays is obvious and need more so. Another minor addition to the ships terraforming array is a minor black dust substance that captures warmth to heat the surface of a world, melting ice and creating traped heat over the world. Average particle size 2.5 microns.
the craft will not be used against OOC assets

Obviously I can read.

IT PULLS APART ASTEROIDS.
This won't ever pass the staff, it's a World Devestator in a fancy suit. Superweapons that CAN PULL APART PLANETS do not get approved.

Asteroids, it gets resources from asteroid fields and Comet Clouds to fuel its terraforming efforts...

I'm CRAZY.
I still say no.

This was ment to terraform the Yavin moons to make them suitable to humanoid life. I don't see where you get the world devestators bit, they are completely dissimilar. This thing doesn't even build ships....

Tears up planetary bodies and turns them into fuel.
Sure LOOKS like a World Devastator to me. But I can't read.

You cant read?

No. World Devestators, and World Devestators pretending to be Star Destroyers, are a definite no.
