Description:
This platform is designed as the launcher of the Arakis X-17 missile. It fires at a rate of 1:5. This is because firing too close together causes so much recoil that firing at a faster rate would tear the platform apart. The missile launchers can be refitted with Concussion missiles for extra defense against starfighters and other smaller craft.
Two of the gunners operate the missiles. One per tube because the Arakis X-17 missiles are guided by the gunner. The other two gunners operate the side mounted quad laser cannons for defense against starfighters.
Originally the design did not include tubes for launching missiles. It was replanned and a decision was made to fit it with tubes to launch the Arakis missiles against capital ships. This platform will be a system of defense for every TDY world.
