The Rapyir is a fast and nimble starfighter designed for attacking capital ships and fighters. The main body, the central section of the fighter, houses the cockpit, main engine, proton torpedo launchers, and the R7 unit.

The two wings, which hold the 2 KX9 laser cannons, have swivels that allow them to move up and down. These swivels can be used simultaneously or individually. When used simultaneously, the fighter can do very tight upward and downward loops. Used individually, the fighter can move in many directions. This gives the fighter the ability to dodge attacks by capital ships such as lancer frigates.

The ship is very fast, but has no hyperdrive. It has to be transported to the location where there is fighting. It can engage in fighter combat, and is pretty effective, but it is specifically designed for attacking capital ships in groups.
