Description
The Dread Lord-Class Super Star Destroyer is meant to resemble the famed Executor-Class Super Star Destroyer but only in shape and bridge. With the forward arc of Eclipse-Class Super Star Destroyer and the defensive curve toward the aft of a Mon Cal Cruiser, the engines are more than shielded from typical blasts, and in turn defend fighters from above from being caught in the massive engines' jet wash.
Riddled with turbolasers and laser batteries, the craft is designed to impose its will on systems that are yet too foolish to adhere to Imperial Rule. Named after the ancient tales of the Dread Lord in Jutraalian folklore, the Dread Lord-Class Super Star Destroyer was customized to overcome all the flaws in Vader's original design for Super Star Destroyers
With shield generators on both in and outside, mimicking the Mon Calamari attempts to shield their generators as opposed to Imperial Star Destroyers who's generators are little domes atop the bridge, it can withhold a severe beating that rivals the make of the Mon Cals.
However construction time is slow, tedious, and expensive. Lord Marshall Shadowlurker expects only a handful of these craft to ever make service.
Also to combat the threat of Republic or Remnant forces from bellying themselves into bunkers and defensive stations upon a planet, the craft now has an Arakyd IV Enforcer Cannon.
These are taken from the design of the Clone War Era Beam Particle Weapons, which adorned the Clone Trooper Gunships of the Old Republic.
Designed to fire a single burst of unbelieveable energy straight into the ground, it causes severe overloads in systems, and heats the earth and metal around the base. In that time the structural integrity fails, and the entire base collapses in on itself. However this requires the presence of an atmosphere to conduct enough of the heat to actually cause damage.
Against enemy planetary shields and starships, it is virtually useless.
The cloaking device allows minimal sight and communication outside of the warship, however it is severely limited to twelve kilometers, and the communications to three.
Furthermore any weapons or communications sent out of the craft with an enemy nearby would be a clear giveaway of its position.

bah make it bigger :P

Irregardless.

That's a hella small crew for a ship that big. An ISD carries some 36 000 crewers, an Executor (at 8000 meters) carries about 250 000.
Just sayin...

In which case I shall have to hunt them down and break their legs....

The cloak has been abandoned.
As soon as it has been edited out this project will have my big shiny seal of approval.

lol It's not really worth it, it was more or less just for show any way. Consider it abandoned.

I'll admit I did not do enough research on this R&D.
My approval depends on that cloak. Make it a full double-blind or disregard it. I can see the problems that could spring up due to such a vague technology.

I doubt very much that a 6.3 km ship could be manouverable enough to avoid smacking into a planetary body if they only had 12 klicks of room.
I agree with Kas on that the cloak should be abandoned, or standard Imperial (double blind). Ships this large with cloaks have not been seen in the EU, to my knowledge (save for the SSD Terror, which is from a video game).
Stealth hull plating would be acceptable, but it would reduce RU ratings.

As I was informed it functions as a double-blind cloak for all intents and purposes. It garners little tactical advantage being cloaked but, of course, I would also like to see more on this cloak.
My approval stands, I shan't retract it but, I will ask for more detail.
#3 1:45am 16/05/03
I'd like to see a little more information on the cloak. I was under the impression it was either double blind, or not - not a halfway dealie
#2 1:23am 16/05/03
Note on the cloak: This is not a double-blind cloak, though it severly limits sensors and scanners so harshly that for the purposes of combat it may be considered as such. It is only sufficent enough to see 12 km around the ship, aka, just enough to avoid smacking into celestial bodies. And while cloaked it can only communicate with ships up to 3 km away. Either way, the use of these communications and scanners is severly limited while cloaked.
So, unless any other mods have a problem...

I'm going to have to insist upon the cloak being a double-blind for a ship of this size.
Single blind cloaks are rare, and typicaly take up most of the ship, and drain most of the energy. The wedge shape on the Sith Infiltrator is entirly cloak.
