R&D 1: The K'nass
When the core leadership, and its respective servants returned to Lwhekk and began the rebuilding of Ssi-Ruuvi civilization they reviewed past errors in tactic, ships design, and basic religious practice's observed under combat. While tactics were found to not be in flaw, and as the Gold scales refused to admit to any misdoings on their part the error was found to lie in ships design.Data from capture colony worlds taken on the edge of known space, before the incident of bakura began to float around amongst the Brown scales. Data began to be discernable, new more powerful systems began to be intigrated into ship design. While hull shape remained the same, interior layout and systems were radicaly changed for the better.
Fallen wreckage from the final days remained on the homeworld still, some Chiss materials, data content still full. It too was used to intigrate newer Ssi-Ruuvi systems.
The K'nass was the first new colmenation of designs, while not enough resources were available for its construction, it remained on the drawing boards till such time as it may become available.
(OOC: Though lengthwise it may be shorter than a Soviergn, its height and width, forming its egg shaped apperance, make it into an Eclipse class vessel, and thus taking all the build requirements needed to build an Eclipse type vessel)
The K'nass' main weapons are two super ion beam weapons that can disable any ship with a combined hit from each, single hits from each seperatly are sufficent enough to knock out a great deal of ships systems on most ships (equivalent to half). It is equipped with super shielding that can withstand heavy bombardment and possibly superlaser hits as well. There are two massive hangar bays, one at each flank of the ship, that are large enough to accommodate ships up to two kilometers in length. The K'nass carries literally hundreds of entechment labs so the crews of captured ships can quickly be enteched. The enteched life energy is sent to the ship's droid manufacturing area where they are immediately transferred into a new droid.

OOC: Gash has given this ship a quick once over already and has given a basic approval of it, and has given permission for it to be an 8k+ vessel for the sake of taking the place of an Eclipse in the Ssi-Ruuvi fleet as the Ssi-Ruuk have no Eclipse type equivalent.

APPROVED

Yes, I did approve it, on the basis of the Ssi-Ruuk's lack of ability to construct an ESD or the like. This craft will take the time that an ESD would require, and have the same fighting capability (approximately) of an ESD. It is simply a replacement for it.

Agreed, I'm not about to argue the somantics of that.
If anyone can find a techinical layout of a Ssi-Ruuvi ship that says otherwise (something I've been unable to locate) then I'll take it into consideration.
Right now the issue is having Gash openly approve the size amendment.

Well, as Ssi-Ruuvi Ion cannons are the stable weapons of their fleet, It can be assumed their techinians have put as much time into developing an adeqaute Ion cannon system as galactic science has put on Laser cannons.
#33 8:37am 16/05/03
Ion cannons actually use specifically allocated energy from batteries, then remotely charged batteries, and then finally the ship itself if I am not mistaken.

They are suggestions.
Hence "I", hence "say", hence lack of "do this..."
#31 6:58am 16/05/03
Can you show me where it says ion cannons use more energy?
#30 6:54am 16/05/03
Seti feel free to post a suggestion, not demands.

Right you are... I didn't realize that the Eclipse mounted that many tractor beams. Still, an ion cannon draws significantly more power than a laser cannon...
#28 6:40am 16/05/03
Umm, how about no, lol
thats already less weapon mounts than the Eclipse

Uhh... I know I said this, but that's still a lot of weapons. That manny ion cannons and tractor beams, plus all those turbolasers...?
I'd say drop all of those numbers significantly.
#26 12:41am 16/05/03
lol, ok, hadnt considered getting Gash to post here. Ive waited a month, I can wait a bit longer...
#25 12:39am 16/05/03
Alright we'll contact Gash and see what he has to say about it.
Until such a time as the moderators contact him though, this R&D will be on hold.
#24 12:37am 16/05/03
Someone will contact Gash, no doubt, on this very matter.
If indeed the size has been passed, then it will gain my approval stamp.
