Extra Cargo Space
5 000 Metric Tons
The designers of the Defender-class Gunship and New Rebellion High Command insisted that the Defender-class Gunship be able to carry some extra supplies, as one of it’s roles would be defending convoys of transports, and it was decided that it would save costs if the ships defending the convoy could carry part of the load.

Special Systems
There are no special systems on the Defender-class Gunship, as though New Rebellion High Command asked for jammers to be placed on it, there was no room with the backup shielding and extra cargo space.

Description
The Defender-class Gunship was designed as a swift, small assault craft, and to protect convoys. It has extra cargo space, to carry part of the load that it is protecting, so that the New Rebellion can save a few credits, by not having to hire as many transports. Due to that extra cargo space, the Defender-class Gunship can be considered a very heavily armed transport. With that description in mind, it can be easily deduced that the Defender-class Gunship will be seen protecting many convoys. A standard convoy defence unit would consist of one Haven-class Light Cruiser, five Defender-class Gunships and numerous squadrons of fighters. Indeed, only the largest convoy will need any extra transports, as the five Defender-class Gunships alone carry 25 Metric Tons of cargo. On standard defence missions, to protect a planet from anyone assaulting it, the New Rebellion fleet will be sure to have some Defender-class Gunships. In fact, already there are different plans for what the different taskforces will consist of. The standard taskforce will probably be four Haven-class Light Cruisers, eight Defender-class Gunships, eight Nebulon-B2 Frigates, though Defender-class Gunships, and some additional fighter squadrons may replace these. On convoy intercept missions, one Interdictor Cruiser will defiantly be seen, protected by two Haven-class Light Cruisers and 4 Defender-class Gunships, more then enough to eliminate the any convoy escort.

Ships can, and do have internal shields. These are installed as security devices and, in fact, function much as we have all seen done in the corridors aboard the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Proof can be found in the Han Solo (Corellian) trilogy, I believe, Rebel Dawn. Han, along with a number of 'friends', was cornered aboard a pirates ship by internal shielding... in a corridor, I believe.

Also:

In the video games, Jedi Knight and Jedi Knight II security shielding is constantly employed to keep you from accessing certain areas without the pass-cards.

Internal shielding is rather common, supposedly, aboard larger ships, especially among the Empire.

The Imperial Star Galleon boasts one of the most impressive internal security systems, which is also makes use of internal shielding.

Thus...

I only ever said Internal Generators, not internal projectors. And, I'm pretty sure that Internal generators are allowed, though i will remove them if you want...

I've always gone with the fact that the towers are shield generators. But somewhere it says that they're com/sensor domes and the series of events in the movies is just a weird one and the two events have nothing to do with each other...

BS, IMO. Those were projectors... (hence them being over the bridge, too)

No, those were shield generators...

According to the movie, it was a shield generator. They blew up the tower, they reported shields down, intensify forward firing power, A-wing smashes into hull.

Moncal ships have their sheild projectors inside one of their 'bubbles' on the body. But the entire bubble, i'm pretty sure, is the projector. And i'm pretty sure snubfighters also have small projectors that are just too small to target directly.

According to people other than the EGTVV, the domes on Star Destroyers are communications and sensor arrays, and all shields are internally fixed...

Morons. "External" shields are the towers seen on ISDs in RTOJ. "Internal" shields are not seen as those towers are inside. Same way X-wings get shields as well as Mon Calamari ships.

You can have internal shields.

Lower Sheilds.

Also not, sheilds cannot be projected without projectors, which i'm sure must be external. Hence remove that info from your backup shields.
