R&D submission...

Note: This is an old R&D, approved back during the days of The New Alliance, that I wish to bring back for the sake of one ship for my character. As both the creating group(TNA) and the group said group is merged with(TNR) are now defunct, I think the design should be open, to the only remaining active TNA character(save for Vonta's recent return.)

Speed is a bit much (15 MGLT, max, IMO). Shields seem fine (remembering that ISDs are undershielded, and using the Mon Cal ships as a reference). Weapons look okay, fighters are good. Land vehicles are a bit high, unless your walkers are AT-PT scale? Hull is way high, should be arund 2000.

Mind you, that's only opinion, nothing official :)

If we could, I'd really like to move forward with this, not having it is holding up my RP plans in what little time I have. The only reason I'm bothering with it is for a single ship, which I hope I'll be able to keep out of combat with others. The only reason I see for it to be in combat against other players here is if I'm attacked. The ship is basically just a point of pride for my character, and the prime RP location when he is to be away from Aeten II.

As for your points Lei, I simply just C&P'ed the original stats of the Xylx, preserved from my time with TNA. In regards to speed, Kas' explaination sounds right to me. As for armor, I really don't know of an explaination for that, I've never been very good with RU and SBD. Provisions I don't think are real important for our uses, I certainly don't plan on having it away for five years without resuppling first anyway.

It wasn't.

I was a TNR Admiral at that time, and only the Vlyx BCs and Calamari Dreadnaught were reapproved, and both were editted.

I'm sure this was already reapproved for NR by Kanbal.

I agree.

Here, from theforce.net

[quote]
There exist very few indicators of the performance characteristics of star destroyer propulsion systems. Abundant evidence proves that the linear acceleration of an Imperator-class vessel is greater than that of the Millennium Falcon, which is consistently outrun except in hyperspace. However, the destroyers have considerably less turning ability. (See, for instance, the near-collision during the chase from Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.)

Note, this is just a geek point. For our little universe, it would be better to leave things as they are.

Yes, it would. It has much bigger engines, and as you say, there's no friction in space. I'll see if I can find that page that talked about this very topic...

It had come to around the planet to intercept the Falcon. When it did, it picked up speed... and there's no friction in space.

Either that or ISDs weighing thousands of tonnes can go as fast as a freighter weighing dozens...

It was moving away from the planet...

Yeah.

That was BS.

If anyone asks... the ISD has the benefit of being in the planet's gravity shadow, and slingshotted around the world for extra speed....

You know that one ISD that ran down the Falcon?

Yeah...
