Description

This ship offers little in the way of luxuary or pleasure. It is a ship hardened and designed with one purpose in mind: war. Lightly shielded it is designed specifically to fly in quickly and wreak as much havoc as humanly possible before withdrawing again. They are virtually useless when placed one on one due to their light shielding, though their heavy hull allows them to take at least a slight beating in their retreat.

Holding a crew of 3,402 it is already crammed as it is, holding no room for extra equipment or soldiers. Not that it mattered, its purpose did not include boarding ships or launching invasions. It is designed completely to fly in under heavy fire, dodge as many turboalsers as possible, and offer an all out barrage under the defense of larger warships.

Designed to counter rogue warfleets initially, Captain Deseele offered the original design to Supreme Marshall Shadowlurker, who then modified it for a more varied fleet useage, specifically against possible Imperial raids on shipping.

After weeks of arduous design a breakthrough was made by the genious workers of the Freedom Guard Division, who were forced into nationaliztion by COMPNOR. The trick to the design's at least somewhat impressive shields were the construction of several shield "domes". Further specification of these domes shall be explained further into this report.

The first of this new brand of Destroyers, dubbed the Heretic, will be shipped to the Black Sword Task Force, to be experimented on against Warlords Verg and Detuin. They hold enough firepower to knock out a Star Destroyer, based on the design of the Defender-Class Star Destroyer, and the speed to rival a Carrack Cruiser.

However, it gives up its defensive capabilites and most of its escape pods for the sake of raw-power output. Most of the ship is riddled with power generators of some sort to keep the massive amount of weapons online.

The pride of this craft are the two new "Heavy Ion Emplacements", enormous ion cannons placed near the bridge similarly to the cannons on a Victory-Class Star Destroyer. These fire extremely high powered ion blasts that eat away at the shields of the Heretic, however causes considerable damage to the systems of the target cruiser.

However the toll on the shields five percent per three shots.

Synopsis of Special Devices

Advanced Shield Domes

Partially borrowing technology from the Mon Calamari, Imperial forces have perfected the technique of placing shield generators and energizers inside of small domes for protection, as opposed to placing them in the open, leaving them suseptible to attack.

Each of these domes holds a kind of generator that assists in powering the ships deflector shields. Each one acts individually, and the loss of one will not overly detriment the craft. However, its loss will result in the loss of shields in a specific portion of the ship.

In that case, another shield generator may expand its width, however thinning out its power and diminishing it. Each dome has its own small scale shield energizer, giving each dome a small deflector shield of its own, backed by particle shields, making it virtually immune to regular laser blasts.

These require immense energy to produce, which is provided in several individually non-linked power generators inside each dome, which is powered by a droid brain of its own. In turn, the dome works as its own power source, as well as defensive source.

However, the heavy ion cannon does drain directly from these systems when firing.

Flaws in the Craft

Very unshielded
Requires constant maintenance [after every battle they will be put on dry dock for at least a day]
Has little hull without Hydrolium
Cannot fight alone
Loses shields when using Advanced Ion Cannons

Craft Concepts Taken

Mon Cal Warships
Defender-Class Star Destroyer
Imperial-Class Star Destroyer
Warrior-Class Gunship

*The weapons are about accurate for this size, mainly because it is an all out attack vessel instead of defensive. It is meant for speed, power, and the ability to give a punch. Other craft about this size that have heavy armament are the Torrential-Class Battlecruiser and Harbinger-Class Battlecruiser. Seen at www.galacticempire.org

These craft are employed by the Order of the Jedi Star, the Jutraalian Empire, and the Holy Demosthesian Empire.

Advanced Ion Unit

The Advanced Ion Unit (AIU) is just that, a high powered ion cannon that shifts energy from the shields into a single concentrated blast.

Each pair of shots drains 3% SBD from the total shield strength, focusing it outward in an attempt to damage the other ship's systems. It works more powerfully than a typical ion cannon, though can only fire once every minute and, furthermore, is prone to overheats if fired too often.

To top it all off, the AIU also cannot swivel, as the cannons are static, firing in a forward firing arc. They are about the equivelent of seven ion cannons in a single blast.

Alright, had him edit out the armor, what kinda' weapon drops you want? 20 ion cannons?

Then conform to our other comments on weaponary and such, lol

#6 5:23am 25/05/03

Then you will have to edit the R&D as such.

No, we always use things from games.

Especially games that are directly linked to books/Dark Horse Comics

They were used extensively in Gash's Thrawn RP

As well, Beff, Gue, I say again, lol:

I am not yet using that armor as I have yet to strike a deal.

Until the deal is struck and the R&D FOR the armor is done I will be using standard durasteel which gives me a 3020 RU instead of 4080

I'm not sure I can comment. You've directly involved me in this R&D by mention of BHG... However:

1. Few too many weapons.

2. No deal has been reached with BHG, thus, the issue of armor is moot. (Perhaps it would have been wise to inquire about such an asset before submission? Also, there are other sources of Mandalorian Iron in the galaxy... of the rare elements of Star Wars, Mandalorian Iron is not the most exotic)

3. The Crystals are fine, on the condition that this group already has the planet, or the planet is free and a previous arrangement has been made considering such. Perhaps with the higher-ups.

4. The sheild rating seems a tad high, considering.

Otherwise an interesting project. Well put together. I'll also expect these craft to be played as they were written; ie, lacking in defensive abilities, though powerful in offense... etc.

My two biggest issues; the Hull composition- Iron/Crystals. As previously addressed.

Mwah!

Dont we 'not' use anything from the games?

The Hydrolium is not yet being used. I am discussing such with Beff about getting my hands on Iron. Furthermore the Hydrolium cannot be used until I R&D it. As a whole it's RU is actually the one in the paranthesis until I get the other R&D up.

The Artusan Crystal is from JK II. It does nothing but strengthen the Hydrolium Alloy. It gives me no "Force" abilities or anything.

1. I have consulted Beff to confirm the Ore deal is false

2. I need other staffers opinions on this 'crystal' your using. But by looks alone, I dont like them

3. Might need to cut down on a few Ion cannons, like 20 or so
