Description:
Designed to supplement the venerable Bothan Assualt cruiser and provide the Bothan navy with a heavy hitter with comperable firerpower to the main capital assest of the galaxy, the A'krai heavy cruiser is the largest ship built by the Bothans to date. Named for the bothan name for total war, the ship sole purpose is to combat enemy capitals, having no fighter docking bays or ground assualt troops or vehicles. It is designed to take a beating, yet be able to deliver a knock out punch to any enemy ship. Overlapping and back-up sheild generators, multiple layers of armor and storage for proton toredoes take up portions of the ship where fighters and ground assualt personal would normaly fight- the A'krai has only a tiny docking hanger in the rear near its engines which hold room for 3 shuttles used to ferry personal to and from the ship. It has 3 bridges, a primary and two backups making it difficult to capture internally, which explains for its relativly low amount of ship security. For ship to ship combat it is supreme, and its anti laser batteries make fighters wary about attackin it, still it must rely on Bothan Assualt Cruiser for protection from masses of fighters and requires troop transports for planetary assualts.
EDIT: Reduced sheilds by 1500 (as Shreeftut asked) and lowered proton torperdoes tubes to 80.

Still need one more approval....

A note for application:
Keep perspective when using this ship... That is to say that point defense gunners have never been as potent against starfighter scale attacks as the starfighters have been against those same point defense guns. I'd like that to be kept in mind, is all.
APPROVED

Of course, but thats why i said on standard ships, meaning ships with hangar bays etc.

He has no fighters, that could compensate for larger shield systems somewhat.
#9 6:22am 11/07/03
on standard ships, 3.337 SBD per m is acceptable.
Yours is double that, you might want to take that into consideration.
#8 8:57pm 10/07/03
I've seen no reduction since my request.
#7 7:45pm 10/07/03
lol, I was thinking Beff said 3000, but if hes fine with that then Ill have to ask for a bit more reduction to qualm myself...
1500 Sheild reduction

The A'Krai will carry 320 proton torps into battle, which allows for 4 salvos from each tube. The Torps are stored in small magizines near concentrations of the tubes, stacked one on top of the other. Loader droids will carry them into position and load them
#5 6:45pm 10/07/03
How many torps per tube?
#4 10:45pm 09/07/03
Same thing as Beff says, plus maybe a slight reduction in Torps...
#3 8:45pm 09/07/03
Drop at least 300 points on your shield ratings.
That's my only issue here, considering the lack of fighter support or ground troops.
#2 5:11pm 07/07/03
Yes, they were approved before the group cap was set.

Are you an approved group yet?
