Stealth Package Explained
1) To remove audio tracking, white noise generators are located between the double hull, as well as sound foam.
2) The Dreamweaver engines, which are already fairly stealth, have an additional cooling/dispersal fitting attached to them to remove all traces of the craft’s engines from the heat spectrum and anything that can detect exhaust.
3) The hull in energized with a static-electricity and a static dampening field (which uses complex electrical signals) is projected in front of the armor. The armor has nano-grooves, which scatter and absorb any sensors that manage to penetrate.
4) Chameleon armour to reflect starscape
5) Active-scanner nodes are placed all over the hull, they use an electro-magnetic stabilizer to lace the signal’s area that touches the cloaking protection, enabling the sensors to penetrate. The nodes are covered in all forms of active-scanners.
6) Passive scanners are placed at the fore and mid of the ship, using sound sweepers (sonar), heat sensors, alternate spectrum analyzers, emission detectors, etc to detect opponents.
7) To hide the ship’s gravity from sensors, the armor is lined with negative matter deposits, evening it out with the surrounding space.
Technology Explained
Optical Communication unit
Uses lasers to communicate, works by Line of Sight.
Veneration Architecture
VA uses repeated triangular patterns and braces within the dual hulling to reinforce the armor and make it so problem sections can be cut off easily and remotely.
Guild-class Bridge
The Guild-class Bridge is a step up from the old style Imperial bridges. The bridge runs the most modern systems and has escape pods located in the aft section along with emergency stairs and a turbolift.
Ion Generator
Standard Ion Generator with more sophisticated energy collection units.
Plasma Lace Module (Energy Weapons)
A module is set in the barrel of the cannon; it feeds off the waste emissions of the weapon, lowering the waste heat caused by the cannon, and superheats and magnetizes them. The beam is set with a polar magnetisms which attracts the plasma, which lines the module, as the beam fires, the plasma lines on the head of the energy beam and continues on towards its target. To cool the system Crystal cooling is used.
Crystal Cooling
Crystals, which are produced by compression of carbon and various other chemicals, are places around an object in need of heat relief. Sensors around the crystal detect when the area set for the crystal to cover is warmed, and an electrical charge is released into the crystal, causing it to generate cold equal to the heat, providing cooling.
Plasma Lace Module (Shielding)
Waste from the shield generators are routed to and projected around the shield, providing superior stopping against projectile weaponry and stopping weapons that usually can pass through an average shield. The plasma is regulated and can be turned on or off.
To cool the system Crystal cooling is used.
Mini-tachyon Detection Grid
A smaller version of the popular Tachyon Detection Grid. This unit has less of a range.
Quantum Physics Processor
The Quantum Physics Processor uses nano-laser pathways to transmit information to the ships systems, it also uses multi-area processing through quantafoam, allowing almost instant, if not instant, processing of any data.
Power Compensator
The PC automatically adjusts power to systems, allowing the pilot to concentrate on piloting.
Dreamweaver Ion Assault Engine
The Dreamweaver takes the Quasar’s technology a step further. This unit has almost no tachyon or waste emissions, making it harder to track this ship. Vectoring technology has been improved, enabling superior maneuverability, as well as the powerhouse being modified to have higher output. The Dreamweaver comes equipped with higher-output boosters which produce more thrust per unit of energy than the Quasar or any other engine being designed. This unit is extremely small for its power output and handles energy at the most efficient level, using micro-processors to control miniature manipulations all over the engine.
Shield Compensator
AI imbedded in a ship’s deflector shield generator that links to a ship’s sensors enabling it to automatically angle the shields to oncoming fire or allot shield coverage to areas in need.
Subspace/Real space Communication Inhibiter (SRCI)
The SRCI is a rather large and advanced ‘jammer’ capable of jamming all standard forms of communication. The device releases waves that inhibit other waves used by other craft to send signals, disrupting and destroying them. This will affect all ships not equipped with an alternate form of close or long range communications. The Shroud itself uses a laser Line of Sight communications systed.
Carbon Fibre Armor
It is possible to make threads of pure carbon. However, it is well known that thread isn't a preferable material for making ships and vehicles, along with almost everything else. However, by mixing the strength for the carbon fibers with the durability of artificial resin and heating it, it is possible to produce a metal lighter and stronger than durasteel.
By passing acrylic threads through stripping machines time and time again, you get spools full of pure carbon thread. Arranging the threads in interlocking patterns, most likely figure-eight knotted, on a sheet woven of carbon threads. Pour resin onto the sheet, and lay another sheet over the mix. Put it in a super-heated oven, and when it comes out, you have a sheet of strong, light, and not so difficult to create metal, preferably thin so it's possible to give it a honeycomb pattern.
<B<Directional Occultation Shield (DOS)
On notification of scanning the DOS releases a directed static energy burst aimed towards the origin of the scanning. (Shields become unstable during use and flicker on and off)
Occult Weapons
The weapons are hidden within the ships armor and jut out, movement guided and controlled by high-powered magnets and hydraulics, the weapons move out of the armor and fire, moving back in the armor while the weapon recharges, then proceeds to jump out and fire again. The Occult Weapons also have a lower profile, basically they are barrels, due to all systems (targeting, generators, etc) being located beneath the armor. Weapon types: Turbolaser, Missiles
Occult v2
(Mass Cannons, Turbolasers, Ion Cannons, Plasma Cannons, Missile, Torps, Bombs, and more)
More powerful hydraulics linked to gravity generators push and pull the weapon at a faster speed, the linkage of the computers is designed into a fire system allowing complete control from the main computer or firing computer via a optical information linkage set aside from the main backbone. Has backup targeting for slow connection times or disconnects. Secondary link runs from gun-to-gun and can act as backup while main is being restored. The system is redundant.
Turbolaser v2: Increase of 10% in punch by using a superior lens and tighter beam mixed with a new blast gas formula. Increase of 30% in effective range.
Ion v2: Increase of 10% in effective range and 5% in disabling speed using newer generator technologies.
Phalanx Anti-Missile Gatling Laser Network
A series of light, rapid-fire laser cannons designed specifically to track and destroy oncoming warheads. The network is linked to a targeting brain that feeds directly from the main computer for superior targeting information.
Class B Hyperdrive
Utilizes a static hyperspace bubble technology that allows the vessel to form a sphere of "real space" around the craft and let it make the jump to hyperspace. The device continues to project the sphere as the vessel travels, allowing it to mantain hyperspace flight in spite of artificial gravity wells.
Cling-Class Ray/Particle Shield
Cling-Class shields provide elaborate ray and particle shield emissions. The shields cling to the ship's hull, sparing the extra energy needed to mushroom shields around a ship and putting that energy towards a more extravagant shield array. The shield emitters are arrayed in groups of four.
Each of the emitters contributes to the shield. The center emitter to each triangle is devoted entirely to the triangle it sits in. All outer emitters contribute to other triangles as well. If one emitter or even a triangle falls, nearby emitters can take up the slack and continue defending the ship. Emitters can be shut down at leisure, so fighters can leave the ship without having the whole shield shut down.
To control the on/off shield switching the Shield Compensator is used, allowing very little energy to be used in shielding.
The shield emitters feed off of two shield generators, one for fore one for aft, each shield generator is connected to a power generator, either to the same one or individual. The Power Compensator can select the source, if multiple, for best usage and power output or allotment.
Ion Shielding
A very simplistic but effective form of neutralizing Ion Cannon fire, Ion Shielding is made up of negatively charged ions that directly counter the ions making up a shot from an Ion cannon.
Negative Matter Deposits
Project negative gravity to directly counter the artificial gravity projectors of the ship, thus neutralizing the conflicting gravities and leaving only the mass of the ship itself, to insignificant to be detected by CGTs or similar devices.
Chameleon Armour
An advanced form of stealth plating, chameleon armour uses cameras to reflect the starscape of the ship's location, rendering it invisible to the naked eye.
Additional Information
The Shroud was designed as a moderately armed vessel capable of deep penetration of enemy space for the purpose of gathering strategic intelligence. Much of the troop and cargo space was removed in favour of a bewildering array of the most advanced sensors available to the Empire. These ships are highly advanced listening and observation posts, capable of gathering and processing an enormous amount of data and transmitting it directly in real-time back to the Empire via hypercomm. Each and every crewman aboard must pass rigorous tests to be considered for the duty, and some intelligence/ counterintelligence background is preferred in its personnel. Great lengths were gone to make this vessel as stealthy as possible; the most advanced cloaking device available was mounted. All power systems were shielded to prevent stray energy releases that might register on hostile detection equipment. The engines were modified to disperse and "baffle" their ion signature completely, and the hyperdrive is of an advanced design that eliminate the telltale gravitic and radiation bursts that accompany a hyperspace exit. Stealth coating on the hull itself simply adds to this array of anti-detection wizardry. Even when "running hot" and de-cloaked, the ship is difficult for enemy sensors to detect at long ranges; when fully cloaked and shut down in "stealth mode", it can simply vanish.

Beff... if you consider discussing an R&D a waste of time, perhaps you shouldn't be an R&D mod?
The SRCI is the same jammer found on most starships, it jams communications.

The Class B Hyperdrive makes use of the HIMS system, which I stated. That system can, from the resources I've read (namely, the Corellian Trilogy where the system was invented) be installed on a capital ship without sacraficing space or energy.
And yes, I payed attention to your wording. However, as is obvious since you've now gone over what the NegMatter does twice, you still fail to understand it correctly. Thusly, I attempted to inform you what it did. I'm not going to repeat myself.
I'm not going to get into Chameleon Armour because it's been used dozens of times undr dozens of different names by a fuckload of people. Excuse me for trying to incorporate stealth technology onto a Stealth ship.
Missile Capacity is simple: you take a large circular launcher, you stick the missile on it, and you fire them off. Capacity is no greater or smaller than it would be otherwise, it's simply a matter of where and how they are stored (i.e., on the hull rather than inside the ship). Which means there is more space inside the ship than most ships with missile launchers...
Lastly, there is room on the ship for the Phalanx, and we both know it.
If you're wondering, I've been in better moods because you've and done two thinks are irritate me more than a little: gone and willfully ignored points of the discussion for this R&D, and gone off and replied to more of them with stupid, snide sacarstic comments of your own.
Beff, the SRCI is a communications jamming device. It works on the same principle as any other jammer any ship has. Are you actually saying we can't use a jamming program that's essentially a bigger, better version than something found on an A-wing?
Read my comment next time. I said no... as it was written.
Heed:
The SRCI is a rather large and advanced ‘jammer’ capable of jamming all standard forms of communication.
I believe I told you no, on the Class B hyperdrive, did I not? I, personally, am not prepared to argue that with you. If you want to add a real HIMS system, then do... and account for space.
Negative Matter deposits are exactly the same as the gravity plates that give a ship artificial gravity, only they're reversed to cancel out the effects of the artificial grav from the ship.
Well, you've done a good job of repeating what is already said in the R&D itself. You have no, apparantly, payed much attention to my wording
As for Chameleon Armour, I've used it every one of my last four or five R&Ds, so that's accounted for. It only effects tha naked eye.
Umm.. Take a look at Kas's Shadow-Paint... oh, and as a referance, just because you've used it before (not with my personal approval) does not mean you are assured of using it again (if being reviwed by yours truly).
As to your missiles... I was lead to believe that it could deliver all of these weapons at once, in one fell blow. Capacity vs. Rate of Fire... Deal with that please.
You go ahead and think Super is a joke... Light > Medium > Heavy > Very Heavy > Super Heavy.
Alright then, I will, and being an R&D mod... I believe that what I think is the real issue here.
The Phalanx Cannon is a meter long and about ten centimeters wide. Not hard to find space for that...
Then, do?
Next time, heed my suggestions. If you want to argue about this R&D, fine by me... I'll just look the other way. I'm not typing this up for kicks, you know. Waste my time and I'll waste yours, roger?

... the Class B Hyperdrive does use the HIMS system... Static Hyperspace Bubble.

Hyperdrive Rating is x1.
Insignificantly sized Missile Gunboats can carry 70 warheads, and those are ten meters long. A two meter TIE Raptor can carry six. This is 125 meters - I'd say that 80 warheads is less than what it could carry.
You go ahead and think Super is a joke... Light > Medium > Heavy > Very Heavy > Super Heavy.
Plasma Lace Module (Energy Weapons)
Okay. To me, this is just a fancy name for an otherwise not-very-special cannon which any Tom, Dick or, Harry could mount on his Geeberdee Class Bumblebee ship...
Plasma Lace Module (Shielding)
Again, right on. This has no effect on the principal of your shield capacity. None, what-so-ever. You ship will still mount shield ratings comperable for the craft.
Crystal Cooling
While I appreciate the gesture of explanation, it's redundant. As spectacular as this may be, it's not going to be best in the galaxy... No better or worse then currently used methods (like exposure to a vacuume).
Dreamweaver Ion Assault Engine
Right on. I like the idea alot, just keep in mind... they may be harder to detect but, there is no such thing as undetectablized (namely because I just coined the word).
Shield Compensator
Still requires mention, in post, of shield modulation. DO NOT ASSUME! please?
Subspace/Real space Communication Inhibiter (SRCI)
As it is written... No. Remove this.
Carbon Fibre Armor
Refer to previous statment in regard to your what-cha-ma-gigger shields.
Turbolaser v2. Ion v2
And the drawback would be? Oh, I get it... it's just a better cannon then anyone else has been able to think up, despite the... what... 75 word description?
Phalanx Anti-Missile Gatling Laser Network
Counter-measures. Most ships have them... while I like the description, it's redundant. This is just another form.
Class B Hyperdrive
Nope. HIMS has been created to counter gravity-well technology. I suggest you study it's principals. I'm not about to let you by with Interdictor-null'ing engines.
Cling-Class Ray/Particle Shield
I respect the thought but, I'd suggest you use standard shields. I dislike the idea but, on this topic, I'll leave it to another mod.
Ion Shielding
Even if I let you keep this, you're going to have to account for the cannons on your hull, incoming fire... So yes, I'll let you keep your negative charge ion cannons if you remove all other external weapons and alot more power to the system.
Negative Matter Deposits
I'll let you keep the negative matter deposits on your hull. Sounds fine by me. Unless I am greatly mistaken, this means one of Four things...
A. Your crafts 'deposits' are in fact just the opposite. They are large holes in the ship which your techs invented and deemed Negative Matter in an attempt to build a warship that runs on hopes and dreams.
B. Your craft is marked by a number of gravametric anonmalys... Aka, Black Holes. An interesting thought, if somewhat expensive. Build a ship, apply the tech and whamo... it implodes upon itself. Brilliant, just brilliant.
C. Negative Matter is, in fact, a disguised attempt to slip some theoretical nonsense past the R&D staff without any backing in practical application. Research or Referances would be much appreciated.
D. You are high.
Chameleon Armour
Righty-o. So, your ship has a mirror like hull. Smooth and free of protrusions. Good enough, there goes your ION Shielding, your numerous weapons...
-----------------------
Statistical Information that actually counts for something. The stuff that the staff dosen't have to go @#%$ shifting through to try and find some sort of valid explanation.
Give me a Hyperdrive Rating. Not class. (1x, 2x... .75x)
With all these systems you have which seem to me like they'd demand a lot of power, the backup rating should be non-existant.
1 Occult Swarm Missile Launchers (Unguided ~ 40 missiles)
Try... 20 Misssiles? 40 seems a tad more then unreasonable to me.
2 Occult Swarm Missile Launchers (Guided ~ 20 missiles a piece)
Try... 10.
2 Super-Heavy Occult Turbolaser V2’s
The word "super" in this situation, is a joke. Like "Super" Class StarDestroyer.
Phalanx Anti-Missile Gatling Laser Network (18 cannons)
And all 18 of these fit where, exactly?
As a general note in regards to your stealth-package, nothing is perfect. Nothing.
Shield Ratings need to loose about 200 points.
That's it for now.
#4 2:09am 25/06/03
Oh.
The Shroud is the best UIT had (at the time) to offer TRF. Its predesessors are about 50 different things.
#3 9:53pm 24/06/03
Neg Matter is the opposite of artificial gravity; we take gravity plating and reverse it, so CGTs can't detect the artificial gravity of a ship.
Quasar’s technology, to the best of my knowledge, is simply an engine stealth technology of some kind... the Dreamweaver itself it a very advanced, very effective stealth engine. Quasar’s technology could just be a name tossed in there to make it sound snazy, even (heh).
#2 9:09pm 24/06/03
Just a roger that this has my attention. I likewise am about to head out but will comment at my earliest convienent time... Quickly glancing down, I'd have to agree with Gue. More to come.
~this is, in fact, Beff~
#1 9:04pm 24/06/03
Giving this a once over before going to work, not a complete rundown...
Glad you got rid of the ALF, not a good tech at all, least not with one sentance description
Please explain Quasar’s technology... maybe its something im just not familiar with
Negative Matter Deposits... ummm, no? Maybe with ALOT better description as to how your making/getting it. But Im not sure to it
This vessel may need a size increase or deduction in equipment...
-more to come after work-
