Simon, if you read it all, this was a joint venture between Corellia and Mon Calamari, so both knew how to make it. Therefore, since TNO owns Corellia, guess what, you get to build it as well. The Corellian versions are called Strident Star Defenders, using the smae stats.

Nope...only R&D'ed ships get placed in people's R&D slots...this is a canon ship and, as such, gets placed in the General R&D slots...it can simply only be built by GC...although other people could, theoretically, steal/acquire the plans for it and be able to build it also without using one of their R&D slots as well...

Kas, if this is strictly going to be a TGC vessel then it should not be under "general R&D" but placed in TGC's R&D slot.
Correct yes?

Last I heard we were 10 years after NJO timeline, but the timeline got modified. The Yuuzhan Vong never took Coruscant, they were repulsed there, and then pushed back to the edge of the galaxy. Then, because of the confusion, various factions popped up, hence the New Alliance, New Order, Naboo Sith Order and all the other ones. I could be wrong though.

"during the NJO timeline"
Aren't we before that? Thusly making it future, not past...?
*tackles a monkey*

Well, obviously the ship history is just that, history. It happens in our timeline's past, during the NJO timeline.
So, it really doesn't apply to *now* as we know it.

You know what means, Lup! Build us some Strident Class Star Defenders!
Kas... their the same ship. The only difference is the Mon Cals called them Viscounts and the Corellians called them Stridents...
And the term Strident Class was never in canon. Stupid. Bloody. RP. Sites!

Uhhh, thusly the reason why noone should actually be able to build them.
Dude, where the hell did that logic come from?
#7 3:59am 04/09/03
Thus the reason the GC will only build the Viscount-class.

*vouches for that fact*
#5 2:40am 04/09/03
*cough*
I doubt there is any, uh, Construction Partnership between Corellia and Mon Cal...

Sure thing. Will edit that into this post in a few minutes.
Viscount/Strident Star Defender
Length: 6,250 meters
Crew: 68,000
Troops: 12 000
Shields: 42,000 SBD (28,000 backup)
Hull: 22,856 RU
Speed: 14 MGLT
Cargo Capacity: 350,000 metric tons
Weapons:
125 Turbolaser Batteries (35 / 30 / 30 / 30)
125 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries (45 / 40 / 40)
125 Ion Cannon Batteries (45 / 40 / 40)
130 Tractor Beam Projectors (40 / 45 / 45)
Fighters: 326
Shuttles: 22
Note: The dual designation for the Star Defender is due to the new construction partnership between the Corellian Engineering Corporation and the shipyards of the Mon Calamari. The Viscount-class is built at Calamari, the Strident-class at Corellia. All other specifications are identical.
I took everything from my stats, but took your troop number and your fighters/shuttles number. Most of the other stuff was a bunch of Ds and other things that are used for the other RPG board.
