In the only book that Hapan Battle Dragons are really mentioned in, Courtship of Princess Leia (I know they were in some NJO books as well but they weren't went into in any detail), it doesn't have a single mention to them shredding ships up...Lup is right, it just mentions them being interdiction fields...

Then you must not have ever been to a Hapan source then.

I've never seen that said in any Hapan source.

Then why, in all Hapan ship descriptions, does it specify that Pulsemass mines are simply Hapes own type of Interdiction tech, and absolutely nothing about them shredding transports or whatever as they came out of hyperspace?

Actually the Dominator is a canon ship...it was featured in 1 of the Rogue Squadron comics (I can scan it in to prove it if need be lol) but doesn't really have any canon stats...although some unofficial stats can be found at this link...

and info can be found here...

The Dominator...?

Never heard of that.

Abolisher = game ship I believe.

Pulse mass mines = Energy bubble produced that exists in hyperspace. Essentially, it rips ships to realspace and shreds them in the process. Harmless in realspace though.

The Battle Dragon's pulsemass generators are in fact the same generators found on the abolisher.

Interdictors can be found on the Dominator SD which rivals the MC-80 in power.

I think that Jaymach is right. Somebody designed the Abolisher online and used the name 'Pulssmass' to do it. Pulssmass is actually in Interdiction device, so it can function just like an interdictor. If the pulssmass mines are used for only interdiction purposes, there is no problem, really.

The original Pulse-Mass Mines could ONLY stop ships entering hyperspace...they were simply mines that lasted for 10 minutes before having to be brought into the ship which dropped them and take 60 minutes to re-charge to full capacity...I actually think I read somewhere that Pulse-Mass mines don't actually affect ships already in hyperspace but I would have to look that up...but yeah...Pulse-Mass Mines don't actually damage ships at all...the Abolishers were made up by someone online that decided to make up a tech and use an existing name which has confused many people...
just hesitant on that as it takes an entire ship to produce a grav well effect, IE: an interdictor, to give that same effect to a mine...
Well, actually it just takes a Gravity Well Generator, not a ship.

Alternatively, this causes the same effect in a different manner.

The reason Abolishers were banned was because the benefits they gave were unfair.

The benefits a BDs pulsemass generator has are not unfair.

Hence, it should not be banned...

Simple progression of my own wacky logic.

Pulsemass is pulsemass

An abolisher uses pulsemass generators

Any R&D involving Pulsemass generators is denied

This is pulsemass...

Pulssmass Mines and Interdiction fields are the same thing. The Abolishers use a completely different system.

Abolishers, essentially, is like a car hitting a brick wall. Interdictors just pull the ship from hyperspace. 'Pulssmass' is merely another name for interdictors.
