The SS Offship Shielding Generators can provide 50 SBD of shielding for up to 250 E-78 fighters. However these Shield Generators aren’t capable of reinforcing the Akula’s shields or giving a E-78 fighter more than 50 SBD of shielding even if it has some extra power. When the SS Offship Shielding Generators are operating at full capacity the speed of the Affluent is reduced to 8 MGLT and the acceleration to 2 MGLT per second.

The SS Mark VII Omni-directional Multi-Wave Jamming Encrypting suite or MWJE is the most advanced Jamming and Encryption Suite in the galaxy. This suite paired with all other SS Encryptors will automatically encrypt and decrypt messages that are sent. The MWJE works through jamming every single known communications frequency. It also sends out invisible laser beams that distort line of site laser transmissions. The encryptor section automatically selects a series of channels through the use of a mathematical formula. It jumps from one channel to another one thousand times a second, sending messages. These messages when sent are indistinguishable from regular jamming. The WMJE detects these encrypted messages assembles them and decrypts them. The WMJE can also encrypt line of site laser encryptions by creating a pattern in the jamming lasers sent out. However this method is used only when needed because it’s easier to decrypt then regular WMJE messages
The SS Mark VII Slicing Suite works together with an onboard computer in the security department. Together with their operators these computers use the latest in slicing software to slice into enemy computers. These computers are also used to decode messages.

The SS Mark I Firestorm Defence System can be used to defend against fighters and missiles. Once charged (takes 1 post for initial charge 2 posts for all charges after that) the Firestorm can shoots a high energy burst creating a sphere with the edge 1km from the nearest edge of the Affluent. This high energy burst can destroy incoming missiles and any fighters within it’s range with 50 SBD shields or less. The Firestorm Defence System fires a continuous for a small period of time(1 post) then it needs to be charged again.

Security Systems:
The Affluent Cruiser has a three tier security system. The first tier is made up of man traps placed in the roof, floor and walls of all passageways and rooms in the Affluent. Each one of these Man Traps use a repulsorlift device to increase the gravity over that area effectively pinning any living or non-living being to the Man Trap. The second tier is composed of more lethal methods. Automated Blasters can be lowered from the ceiling of the ship and when the Intruder Alert has been sounded any person who goes through any door is automatically scanned by a bio-scan. This scan can automatically distinguish whether or not you’re carrying a command cylinder that is issued to people upon arriving on board. If you aren’t either of these camouflaged blaster ports open up in the wall and automated blasters appear. Finally the Commanding Officer has the ability to activate the self-destruct of the Akula by entering his personal password and pulling on two hidden levers simultaneously. However this is only used as a last resort and only once the crew has evacuated the ship through the escape pods.
Special Devices: E-78 Remote Control
The Akula-class Carrier is a command vessel designed to control the E-78 fighter. One operator who can use voice commands, remote control or a computer terminal, controls each Squadron of 5 E-78s. The E-78’s usually operate with other fighers like the TIE Defender or XM-1 Missile Boat. The E-78 relies on the Affluent for shielding and for control. However if their mothership is destroyed the E-78s can follow set defaults in their programming or if they were assigned to work with a manned fighter squadron follow the movements and actions of the manned fighter squadron squadron. Closing:
The Akula-class Carrier is a heavy carrier designed to hold large amounts of fighters and still defend itself when needed. Following the Design Specifications of Order #1142 which called for a Heavy Carrier capable of operating independently and also contemplating the strengths and the weaknesses of the Sovereignty Fleet. We believe we have designed the ultimate carrier capable of taking on any ship it’s size.
