Plasma cannons used by the Yuuhuzan Vong will wear down anyshields quickly, no matter how pwoerful they are. I have read all of the books and are described as "eating through the shields" on everything from X-Wings to Star Destroyers.

The NJO books describe the assault cruiser as having some of the most advanced sheilds of the time, and being a highly advanced warship. CUSWE backs this up:
Bothan Assault Cruiser
this warship was developed by the Bothan military, for use by the New Republic, shortly before the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy. At 850 meters in length, the Bothan Assault Cruiser was designed to fill the mission profile of a Victory-class Star Destroyer on the front lines of a space battle. It was crewed by 1,240 beings, and could accommodate up to 250 additional troops and gunners. 5,000 metric tons of cargo space was provided for supplies and ordnance, and the ship was armed with twenty turbolasers, twenty-four heavy turbolaser cannons, ten ion cannons, twenty proton torpedo launchers, and four tractor beam projectors. Two angar space was set aside to handle up to four full squadrons of fighters. Its design incorporated some of the most modern technologies. (HT, SOG)
Besides since this is already approved I don't think we need to continue this debate.

The BAC does devote more power to weaponry than shields. During the Battle of Ithor, it didn't take too long before the shields on the Ralroost were disabled by the plasma cannons.

I am fairly sure Hasbro does NOT own West End Games, I'm not even sure if the corporation is current. Hasbro could very well own WotC, not that it would make much difference either way. The corporate world is a mixed up jumbled of who owns what owns where owns when owns why... and so on.

Would it surprise you to know that Kraft is owned by a major tabacco company?

Doesnt Hasbro own West End games? Cuase if im right, Hasbro also owns WotC, an aquasition of a couple years back, just like WotC bought TSR, makers of D&D...

The Bothan Assault Cruiser, aside from being featured in numerous New Jedi Order novels, also appears in "Starships of the Galaxy", published by Wizards of the Coast, which currently owns the gaming rights to Star Wars, as issued by Lucasarts (I believe that is the correct divison) to WotC as well as West End Games, which earlier held the contract.

As a side note, stats written in d20 or d6 format can be translated into either of the two 'Cannon' statistics forms very easily. I have the methods if they should be needed.

Destiny's Way also says that it focuses most of its power on weapons, as opposed to shields...

I don't understand the D thing, but cannon references(books) said something like the Bothan Assault Cruiser have 20% better weapons and shields on the VSD, or something like that.

What does 4D+2 translate into in terms of shielding? I think the first stats posted are fine and dandy, but the shielding is quite high. (hull is cool though)

CUSWE has stats that i believe are similar if not exact to thos posted by Jan (though i am not sure about sheild rating). I Do know the ship is completly cannon, featured throughout the NJO series, and described as a:

"Highly Advanced Warship, with all the most modern technology."

CUSWE Says the ship is designed to fill the role of the VSD in a newer more potent vessel.

Those stats look fine to me.

If there are cannon stats on a cannon site, we wouldn't be doing this...

But then again Gue, the only reason you have the V'sset fighter is because you came to the staff before you started building it and asked 'hey, can i do this'.

Hence, everything thats happening.

Irregardless, this is up to you guys, me and Kas are only the backups.

The Bothan Assault Cruiser is featured all through the NJO series, and those stats are pretty tame.

Approved

look at it this way, I have a V'sset fighter, Ive typed out the words from the book that mentions it and have proven via sites it exists. Yet there are NO cannon stats around....

Whether its a canon craft isn't an issue (i don't think).

Its simply the fact that everyone is hacking and slashing a multiverse of random stats to make a ship, when a canon craft should have the stats readily available on a canon site.

If its not, then there should remain doubts as to its legitimacy.

I see no problem with this ship
