TDY R&D 6
Designer: TDY IndustrialName: Arakis X-17
Type: Anti-capital ship missile
Length: 3 Meters
Speed: 220 MGLT
Turn Speed: 10% per second
Distance: System wide travel(based off of VC's "Opticon" and Kas's opinion)
Payload: 600 pounds
Warhead: Loaded with depleted uranium and some explosives of other sorts. Allowing for a mixture of materials to provide a good blast for a missile its size. Causes same amount of damage to an ISD's shields as five proton torpedoes.
Guidance: Personnel
Special Feature: Remote Self-destruct
Maneuverability: High
Build Time: 1 day
Description:
Designed for the purpose of planetary assault on capital ships, it is very effective. It is more powerful than planetary lasers and delivers a larger payload. It is launched from the Charlis Platforms stationed on all of the TDY planets. It is considered very fast, and well suited to its task.
Hopefully, it will do its damage. These usually are not launched until the target ships shields are down.

By TRF standards, the bigger the ship the slower it is. In the canon universe, the bigger it is, the faster it goes, because it has bigger engines. The Falcon was constantly being run down, by TIE's, and by ISD's. (except in hyperspace)

Interesting. This merits thought...

heh, being that thats a legit source, Id take heed

I've never paid heed to sources saying an ISD can do 60 or more MGLT. It might be physically possible in Star Wars, but TRF (I think) tends to stick to about 10 MGLT for ISDs...

Depending on the resource:
A-wings are capeable of top speeds of 120 MGLT.
Or:
A-wings are capeable of top speeds of 80 MGLT.
We do know that A-wings are comparable to Jedi Starfighters in speed and maneuverability. This implies that A-wings have the speed and potential to out-run missiles and torpedos (depending on the skill of the pilot).
I'll look into missile and torpedo technology for scale.

I thought TIE Interceptors were 120 and A-wings 180...
I don't know why, I just thought I saw that somewhere. :lol
#11 4:25pm 10/05/03
lol, about 5x the speed of an A-wing
#10 9:44pm 09/05/03
500 MGLT?
That seems a bit excessive... And a bit more excessive then that. That's waaaay fast.

Bump.

At that speed, definately. My recomdation: remote controlled self destruct.

Things I think you should change.
Describe the warhead stats a little more; how much damage will it do to an ISD’s shields?
Remove the satellite guided thing, and just have an internal guide. If the satellite goes down, what then?
If a friendly fire incident seems imminent, the gunner can disable the warhead allowing it to bump harmlessly against the capital ships hull.
Right… What would really happen is this. The missile would slam into the hull, probably buckling some plates, and perhaps venting a lot of atmosphere. It would also be destroyed, because of the sheer force of impact.

Rocket Fuel? What else would it be? (or could it be)
#5 6:12am 14/04/03
3 Gallons of what?
#4 1:55am 14/04/03
Is that better?
Yes they will be built seperately.
