Long Lance - Proton Warhead System (Imperial)
“Long Lance” Proton WeaponType – High-yield proton-based projectile weapon
Length – 3m
Diameter - .035 m
Form (Description) – A torpedo’s body with six trapezoidal fins running along the last meter of the body. Nose is conical and smooth.
Components
-* * * * Kruppx Mark 17-A warhead. Explosive ordinance is molecularly compacted, allowing improved-intensity detonation upon impact. (1m)
-* * * * Arakyd Micro-drive engine w/ fuel cell. (2m) Purpose is to provide in-flight propulsion. Single-exhaust vent allows one burst of primary engine immediately after leaving the launch-tube. (3m)
“Long Lance” Launcher Platform
Type – Specialized weapon warship gun emplacement
Crew – Gun-Captain/crane operator; targeter; x2 handlers/loaders; propellant officer
Components
-* * * * Launch Tube. Breach-loading cylinder fixed through a mount: sponson. Firing arc: 45 degrees horizontally of center; 20 degrees vertically of center.
-* * * * Swivel Mount. Launch tube is mounted hereon.
-* * * * Breech loader ramp. Attached to the end of the launch tube, the projectile is inserted hereon and rammed forward mechanically. Two cases of propellant are then inserted and the breech closed.
-* * * * Loading Crane. A small canopy over the emplacements takes the projectiles from a carriage and maneuvers them onto the breech-ramp.
-* * * * Propellant canisters. Each is a 20kg canister of combustible fuel.
Procedure for Launch
1.* * * * Gun is leveled.
2.* * * * Breech is opened.
3.* * * * Tube is swabbed free of excess charred propellant.
4.* * * * Proton torpedo is attached to crane and maneuvered into position onto the loading ramp.
5.* * * * Torpedo is inserted into tube.
6.* * * * Blast-plate is inserted.
7.* * * * Two bags of propellant are inserted.
8.* * * * Breech is closed.
9.* * * * Gun is elevated/depressed/swiveled according to targeter’s orders.
10.* * * * Gun captain fires weapon, or it is done by the battery commander in the battery control center.
11.* * * * Process is repeated.
Purpose for Weapons
The missile operates on a stage system. When the gun is fire, the propellant is ignited and the missile is forced from the tube. The force exerted pushes the missile out of the tube. The blast-plate inserted pushes the missile so it is not made inoperable. Immediately after leaving the chamber, the missile itself engages its drive. Activated while the missile is in flight, it increases the inertia and speed, making it extremely hard to hit by conventional weapons and sighted-laser gatlings.

well then - its not so special.
*hmpf!!!

It does that for regular torpedoes. That's somewhere in the rules about the 2 posts.

The Long Lance would do an additional fifteen percent of damage compared to current torpedo systems. It would as well be harder to intercept using current methods.
*I know about the energy waste. I am leaving room for an improved version for reality's sake since I said it was experimental.
Note - I added this to my other rd but not this.
Since the propellant is volatile, it takes one post to load and another to fire.

You know there would be a tremendous waste of energy because the propellant wouldn't be focused it would detonate outwards not just straight up.
How much damage would this torpedo do compared to a regular torpedo?
