Explanations
Phalanx Anti-Missile Point Defence Gatling Laser Network
The Phalanx, is made up of a network of small, turreted light blaster cannons. These weapons are very able to pick out missiles and destroy them from long range. The Phalanx System reduces the percentage of successful short-range missile strikes to less than 20%, and long-range attacks to under 5%.
Reactive Shielding
Reactive shielding is a system designed to protect the Messiah from energy weapons. When the vessel’s shields are raised, a special battery bank is charged along with them. Then, when computers detect a substantial bombardment against any section of the vessel, the shield is immediately recharged with stored energy from this bank.
Multi Track Shielding
Multi Track Shielding uses a dedicated targeting computer imbedded in the shielding system to track approaching enemies and calculate approximate damage. The system automatically them distributes shields for maximum damage resistance. Combined with reactive shielding, this system gives the Messiah an unprecedented edge in battle.
Disruptor Batteries
A highly experimental weapon developed by the Imperial R&D Department, Disruptor Cannons are derived from the same technology found in the highly illegal blasters. Containing more than two and a half times the power of a standard capital ship heavy turbolaser, the Disruptors do have a number of drawbacks. They are strictly short range, not able to strike anything outside a two-kilometre radius of their turret, and take several seconds longer than a standard turbolaser to recharge. When turned againt enemy ships, though, they are devestating.
Proton Torpedo Clusters
A dedicated cluster of Proton Torpedo Launchers, each equipped with its own complete targetting array. Each of the clusters contains fifteen launchers, linked into three banks. When the cluster is fired, there is a second-long delay between each bank. The result is that the first wave of missiles can often create a small gap in the shields, allowing the second and third waves to penetrate and strike hull. The arrangement allows for maximum damage to be sustained from a single cluster firing.
Background Information
Developed as a follow up to the Empire's hugely successful Victory Class Star Destroyer, the Eternal incorporates new technolgies into an already able vessel to create a line ship capable (in design) of standing against even the Imperator Star Destroyers that make up the bulk of the New Order's navy.
More than 200 meters longer than her predeccessor, the EASD makes up for the added length with a heavier weapons package, more powerful shielding and defensive measures, and backup facilities to increase the survivability of the ship and her crew in combat.
Like her cousin, the EASD is capable of entering a planetary atmosphere and inflicting massive damage on ground-based targets. It was for this reason that the R&D team agreed to include the Disruptor weapons. In space, these weapons cause huge damages. But in atmosphere, they are terrifying.
While larger than the VSD, the EASD carries the same fighter compliment. However, her two sqaudrons of TIEs are deployed through a large frontal entrance, allowing for launching of the ship's entire compliment in less than a minute. The hangers are double-shielded to prevent a stray missile from skipping through and impacting with the ship.
Exceptionally fast, well armed, and shielded for her size, the Eternal Advanced Star Destroyer is seen in the High Command as a new breed of warship for an new era.

I didn't mean the picture looked the same, I meant that the design is the same-fast, over 1000m and decent weapons.

lol, i trust Jan wouldn't be a putz and try to swipe it in that sense.
And i figured you had something with NSD going.

Shh! I didn't want to use the Nemsis for something this small. My drawing board is quite large, you know.

Jan, the ship he used the picture from is the Empire Class Star Destroyer, a ship that was created by a XWA clan for their Fleet.
The Nemesis looks better, i reckon, and has more bite.

Essentially, they are a beefed up turbolaser. They have more power than your average heavy battery, but at a decreased range.
Give a little, get a little.

I see no problem with The disrupters...
#2 2:31am 06/12/03
What are those disrupter things? Get em' off.

Nice ship. It sort of resembles one I was making, but then lots of R&Ded ships resemble each other.
