The Jamming array can either be used to pierce jamming signals the enemy emittes, or can jam enemy systems themselves (with signals, not jelly)

Design Specifications: Although the Allegiance is seen in the Dark Empire comics, a full list of stats has never been officially released. What I have attempted here is to make as close as possible a real list of stats for this Destroyer. First things first. When it was seen it was obviously larger than a Star Destroyer, but not that much bigger. And it was also somewhat wider. So increase so stats. Next, Armament. Since it's length is increased by one quarter of it's original statistic, increase weapon emplacements by as much. 120 / 4 = 30 + original 120 = 150 weapons emplacements. Next, Defenses. As far as I know, the Allegiance is bascially an enlarged ISD. So defense stats are basically upgraded for an enlarged ISD. Next, Complement. Okay, here, since the Allegiance was used as a Command Ship for a Planetery Assault, I'm assuming it carries a smaller amount of fighters in leiu of more ground assault vehicles, and increased infantry carrying capacity. As for propulsion, three large engines were seen in Dark Empire, so I assumed it was basically the same as an ISD, except maybe an upgraded powerplant with reduced sublight speed. For the crew, an ISD's complement is normally 37,000, plus 9,700 ground troops, making total capacity 47,400. For the increase of length, and width, with the added weapons, systems, and ground assault weaponry and troops, I think I about hit the right amount for a Destroyer this size focused on ground assault. Finally, the Allegiance as seen at Mon Calamari was the main source of battle transmissions from the Devastators to Byss, therefore, it makes sense it has an advanced Communications array.

Right, both examples that were seen were both destroyed quickly. The Allegiance was destroyed at Mon Calamari by the Emancipator in a hurry, compliment to Lando Calrissian's brilliant manuever. The other ship, Shockwave, was overwhelmed by large numbers of Victory Star Destroyers, although she and her consorts took a large number of Vics with her.

Precisely.

So its an Empire specific tech then.

The Allegiance Class Star Destroyer was a rarity, even in the Imperial Fleet.

In fact, its a part of their common history that they were only cruise ships before being modified.

Regardless of Jan, Most Mon Cal vessels were properly common in the galaxy before being drawn into the rebellion, being mostly cruiser hulls upgraded with weapons and sheilds.

The Republic Star Destroyer is, in the same terms as the Imperial Star Destroyer, General property when it comes to ownership.

IMO, if ya dont got quotes from a reliable source that states that the plans for any said item were taken/viewed/released/ect and your not of the group that had them, then your not going to build any of these vessels.

Basically Jan, you decided to embarass yourself.

The nature of the ship dictates the terms, not us. As such i'm inclined to agree with Kas.

Jan...

*sigh*

Did you even read this thread? Or any other threads where TNO says a tech is empire specific?

They say that because the craft were rare, and the republic didn't have them in cannon. That's why.

They're not saying 'You can't use star destroyers', which is about what you're insinuating.

#19 10:31pm 29/11/03

Well TNO keeps on complaining that ORS shouldn't be able to use omse of their ships, so I decided to say fine, you can't use our ships.

Yeah. This is getting of hand here.

And as I am currently controlling Sienar Fleet Systems over at anthos, y'all better quit using TIEs, immobilizers, lambda shuttles or Skiprays.

Get a grip.

#16 4:01am 29/11/03

If ORS is forced to scrap all their Allegiances, then every group that isn't TGC's ally, lightside or isn't on friendly terms with us, better scrap every Ranger Gunship, Majestic Cruiser, any kind of Mon Calamari Star Cruiser(with the exception of those who get the Viscount from TNO), Republic Star Destroyer, and probably numerous other designs.

#15 1:48am 29/11/03

Unless you can quote specific parts of books where it says they have...

The Republic held Kuat Drive Yards, they could have easily got their hands on the designs.

#13 10:59pm 28/11/03

Not TNO spesific, but Empire and Kuat Drive Yards spesific.
