TTR R&D: Cardigan Fighter
Name: Cardigan FighterManufacturer: TTR Industrial
Designer: StarCorp
Designation: Starfighter
Length: 9.5 meters
Width: 2 meters
Height: 2.5 meters
Personnel: 1 pilot
Consumables: 3 days
Shields: 60 SBD
Hull: 50 RU
Speed: 155 MGLT
Maneuverability Rating: 125 DPF
Hyperdrive: 1x
Weapons: 4 KX9 Laser Cannons, 1 Concussion Missile Tube
Equipment: Standard Sensors, Comm. Unit, and Jammer.
Cockpit: Similar to the design of the X-wings cockpit, it’s mounted directly above the engine system and allows the pilot a good view through the wing pylons. The main body of the ship is 2.5 meters of the total length and houses the engines, shields, and other necessary systems.
Wings: Set at 135 degree angles with the hull, the wings stick out the remaining 5 meters of the meterage. There are four of them located on the ship and they hold the laser cannons on them. The design is based off of the Tie Defender but designed to be a better fighter in the small forward and aft target.
Special Equipment: Because of the wing design, the pilot has a blind spot at the rear of the craft. In order to compensate this, a small space usable camera is mounted at the rear of the craft. The feed from the camera goes into an eyepiece that the pilot wears over his left eye. This way he can effectively watch his blind spot. However, seeing as the view from a camera is conic, there are still two blind spots on either side of the craft. They are just a lot smaller.
The Cardigan fighter is designed to be a space superiority fighter whose main goal is to destroy enemy fighter craft. While it does not hold and missile launchers or proton torpedo tubes, the vessel is fast and well suited to close quarters combat instead of attacking capital ships like the Rapyir Starfighter.
Design Time: 20 days
Start: 11-18
End: 12-7

I think part of Lup's reasoning is that this is equal to an Xwing in power, faster than the xwing, yet half the size.

Personally, I'd up it to 9 meters.
It's not quite on the par of a defender, but its near enough up there with it.

I seem to recal the Griff here doesn't think it needs to be bigger either. I'm taking this to the rest of the staff.

No, its not.
"Because it resembles a fighter already designed by the Empire, I had no intention of it being like that I just designed it out of nowhere, it must automatically be bigger"
Irregardless of whether you pulled the design from your ass or not, using TRF R&D statutes means you either accept what the staff tell you, or you @#%$ off.
Whether you intended to make it like the defender or not, it is still comparative and as such i'll make my judgements based upon that.
Now either raise the length, or you don't get the tech.

Which is what I said. Because it resembles a fighter already designed by the Empire, I had no intention of it being like that I just designed it out of nowhere, it must automatically be bigger. That's bullshit and you know it.

WTF does that have to do with size?
Defenders are bigger, and as such so must his 'cloned' fighter, irregardless of the reason behind him designing it.

Exactly.

The Tie Defender is an Imperial design. Perhaps Tholatin wants a non-Imperial fighter design as the main unit in their starfighter corps?
#23 9:17pm 23/11/03
Yeah you explained that because it's similar to the Defender it must automatically be bigger.
#22 8:02am 23/11/03
I've already explained that. And i also need not to.
#21 7:19am 23/11/03
Why?
#20 7:07am 23/11/03
I'm thinking increase size.
#19 5:07am 22/11/03
Ohhhhh ok. I got it. Yeah.

Cardigan . . .another name for a wooly jumper . . .
Correct term for it actually . . . I think.

It's in there.
