TOO R&D - Vanish 3 Sensor mask

Part one of Operation reflection

Based on the Vanish II cloak and the trickster systems.

Details on use of and new abilities.

<font size="1">Trickster
this is the brand name of Corellian Engineering's starship decoy system. An addition to a ship's countermeasures system, these small decoys could be deployed during flight. They sent out electromagnetic and holographic signals that duplicated those of the parent ship. The Trickster decoys required Imperial certification for operation during the New Order."

Vanish 2 Sensor Mask
developed and manufactured by Fabritech, this device combined electromagnetic and holographic transmissions to "hide" a starship from most sensors. This device didn't absorb sensor beams but, rather, disrupted them by sending back information on the environment surrounding a starship. The Vanish 2 made a ship virtually disappear by sending back sensor data about the starfield around it. (PP)"

Technology:

1 - Positronic path ways with networking capabilities.
2 - Trickster processing system and Vanish II processing system updated into the Vanish III processing system
3 - Holographic projectors
4 - Electro-magnetic sensor masks.

The vanish three is the updated version of the Vanish II system. The vanish three like it's predacessor can create the illusion of blank space by projecting back false electro-magnetic sensor readings and visual data of the surrounding space that makes it appear that there is nothing where a given ship using the sensor mask is stationed in space.

But unlike it's predacessor the Vanish three can also be reversed so that it can give the illusion of either a different class of ship or even project the illusion of a ship where a real ship does not exist.

This reversal of the sensor mask III is possible by integrating into the mask certain operating systems used by the trickster device that gives the illusion of the existance of a ship.

The combination of these converse systems was made posible through advents in the technology avalible.

Operating system description:

1) Increased Processing power due to Positronic tech-

The addtion of positronic technology has made difference. Positronic systems can store vastly more data and process it at speeds far above any conventional system.

The vanish II sensor mask projected an illusion of the space around it sending back duplicate data to a ship that is scaning rather then the actual data of a masked ship. The vanish three records more of the details of such space. Storing more of it, processing it and then sending it out in the form of false of more complete information then the Vanish II was capable of. Thus giving an even more convincing illusion to any ships making such scans.

2) Addition of a Trickster processing system into the vanish three sensor mask-

The additional processing power also allowed for the addition of a trickster processing system into the Vanish three cloak. The trickster has all of the same systems as the Vanish III sensor mask. The only difference is that it projects the illusion of a ship rather they the illusion of empty space. The only thing that limited both systems to a single task of either cloaking or creating a false ship was the fact that they did not have the storage capacity or processing power to be able to do the reverse of each system. Positronic tech has led to a solution to this problem and allowed for the inclusion of both of these operating systems into the vanish three two pronged sensor mask. Now it can both scan space to make convincing illusions as well as create convincing illusions of a false ship. The Vanish three goes one better on the trickster system. For it can project details of unique spacial readings as well as the illusionary ship readings. Making an illusion that is all the harder to see through. This was a mistake of the Trickster becuase if it did not reflect unique readings that should be radiated off of the ship that could give it away as a fake.

3 ) Each system of Vanish three mask is unique to the ships that the system is mounted on-

The complexity of the sensor mask also depends upon the size of the system being employed and the number of holographic projectors and electromagnetic masks being used to make such an illusion.

4) Networking capabity of induvidual vanish three systems.

Included in the sensor mask is a networking option. With it several cloaks in close proximity can network in order to creat even better illusions. This networking allows for the systems to become one system that can overlap illusions in a flawless manner even if they come from different sources. The network transmitters are powerful enough to work within a radius of upto or under fifty meters.

I stand by what I am saying drayson.

Rarity was not established at all.

The devices are proven to be found outside of imperial hands so they do not require a RP to obtain becuase they have been spread to the general universe. If you have an issue take it up with kas or a mod then.

"Just like other things" isn't quite good enough, though, is it? Otherwise, I could just say I can build all of your R&Ds because "like other things", they've conviently become widespread.

Just like the universe has things in it like Positronic droids found in the universe that were developed by the empire but were sold to others and became a technology out of their control. As with those droids they have been found out of imperial control they are fair game for anyone to build becuase they have been found in the general universe.

The source is a Canon RPG book officially reconized as such. It is a quite viable source.

And this is my story that I am sticking too Drayson unless told otherwise by someone with the power to officially state otherwise.

Vonta, that's quite a stretch between "outside the Empire's control" and "I have it, it's mine, shut up". Especcially when your only source is an RPG.

Find a realistic reason as to why you a) have attained, b) have figured out how to use and c) figured out to reproduce this technology.

An RPG book in which the tech was obtained outside of the empire's control. Meaning that like other imperial technologies, this one has been used and spread into the general galaxy thus it does not require a RP to obtain the use of the technology.

Kas the thread has been ignored anyway by R&D mods with the exception of you from the time that I posted it hence why I am slightly annoyed with waiting for a second approval.

I well refrain from posting as frequently then.

edit:

New meterage count as of today since the R&D is yet to be approved.

Vonta, stop spamming the thread. You posted a reply to Drayson (bumping it), then posted another bump an hour later, and then another bump 8 minutes after that...

Multiple bumps is only going to make the other people ignore the thread.

Can you produce an RP where you discovered this technology?

It sounds rather, rare. And I notice the only reference you have is still only an RPG.

On to day 24 then I guess...

With the advent of the fall of the empire and the rise of the new republic from classic star wars history such things fell into the black market. Just as much of the imperial technology did due to the fact that warlords sprung up that all used the tech. Selling it for profit. Or they could be stolen. Or built by others. The point is that they have been seen out side of imperial hands and it is posible for me to have the design and use it for this tech as is illustrated in the RPG book that I cited.

I still require a second approval.

And how did you manage to aquire one working model, from a galaxy with millions of freighters, and work it out?

23 days now, R&D time has past and still needing a second approval.

Galaxy Guide six: Tramp Frieghters is the SWRPG book that this is from.

RPG books that are authorized RPG's by lucus film are canon sources.

Just as are the Darkstryder Campaigns in EU. Among other RPG books.

That having been addressed I require a second approval.
