The Observer order's military arm is the Alderaanian guard. The Guard is made of of all of the classic types of trained storm troopers.

Amoung them Rad troopers. The Rad Trooper is equiped and trained to fight in an irradiated environment.

In a memo to their superiors the Rad troopers made the suggesttion that a layer of Lead polymer Substrate that shielded the from harm in irradiated environments be added to all guard builds. So that their forces could better survive a radiation type attack.

The upgrade is cheap and inexpensive and the layer is not that thick. Just an inch and a half of armor would suffice under existing armors or metals.

Additional time to add to entire fleet and other forces.

It affords as much protection to radiation as it does for the rad troopers that utilize it in their armor.

so basicaly your just adding an inch of lead to all your ships to protect against radiation?
