Details:
The Jericho is designed to interlock with up to seven additional systems to provide full-system shield coverage. Each Jericho unit is designed to interlock with one other of its kind and then work in tandem with a system of 6 other Jerichos to shield an entire solar system in defense. Each interlocked portion of the Jericho system are placed opposite each other at the edge of the system, in a plus sign type formation. Each portion projects its shield radius into the top, upper, mid, lower and bottom hemispheres of the system defense field in their radius. These shields are more or less thousands of smaller interlaced shields connecting to each other seemlessly. Once placed, Jericho units become completely unmoveable, and if a move is attempted the jericho system will not only fail but the base unit itself will cease to function permenantly. The Jericho retains its permenant position by using excess power from the Gravimetric Power generator to create a stabilization field around the assembly itself, seperating the immideate space around it from the graviton effects of the area of space its located in, other subsystems are deployed in a similar manner.

From what i remember, one is not enough. You require the full set to generate the single sheild. Obviously over a smaller distance you'd require less platforms, but for the standard system style in which we are using it, all 8 are necessary.
I'm not sure whether 7 could do it at a reduced level or not though, Gue?

It's not the strength of the shield, but mantaining that much power over a distance as vast as an entire solar system. That's tens of millions of kilometres...
Unless it only generates the shield over a specific portion of a solar system?
Also; does it take all eight platforms to generate the shield? Or could one do it at reduced strength (and so on)?

I don't really think so, all things considered Drayson.
Firstly, it would be entirely impractical for a massive rig of stations to only project a sheild system of say, 10000SBD because by the time an attack has been detected and responded to, the shields already been broken.
I think the amount is decently reasonable, especially considering the build time that goes into it.
