Explanations:
Flechette Launchers
The standard galaxy wide anti-missile defense system, Flechette launchers work by tubes that discharge a large number of reflective, and hard particles into the paths on oncoming missiles. This reduces the effectiveness of a long range missile strike to 25%, and the effectivness of a short range strike to 50%.
Weapons Blisters
The weapons blisters onboard the Ishori war cruisers consist of a weapons blister protecting a number of weapons. Each blister contains 1 Medium Turbolaser Battery, and 2 Medium Quad Turbolaser cannons. There are ten blisters total on an Ishori cruiser, five to the portside, and five to the starboard side. All the weapons on a blister can fire either up, down, left, or right in full one hundred and eighty degree arcs.
History:
The Ishori War cruiser is produced by the Ishori, from their native homeworld of Isht. These cruisers have seen much service against their constant rivals, the Diamalans, but they have seen combat against the Imperial fleet once. At Bothawui, three or more such cruisers were the first combat ships to engage a trio of Imperial Mark II Star Destroyers. These ships were able to sustain heavy damage, and give back some, too.

By comparison, an Imperial Dreadnought has 10 blisters, each carrying 4 weapons, for a total of 40 weapons, along with two squadrons of starfighters, at a length of 600 meters. Now, after my modifications, this ship is 550 meters long, carries 32 weapons, and two squadrons of starfigthers, along with weaker shield and hull ratings than the Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser.

Seems somewhat undergunned now.
But I won't tell you to add more weapons.

Edited.

In other words, would I be allowed to increase the number of clusters to 20, because in SW, clusters only hold two weapons as told by Griff, or does he know, in this particular instance, that the IWC only carries 10 clusters of 2 cannons in each one?
#11 1:51am 14/02/04
Is that a ruling on this particular design, or is that the rule for any weapons clusters period?
#10 1:16am 14/02/04
Each cluster must have only two cannons, Kraken. Two, no more.

Reduce the number of Quad-Turbolaser cannons to two per cluster.
A reasonable revision, I think, after looking through approved R&Ds. Someone with a better sense of the standard may want to reduce it further.

Yeah, a weapons cluster is what fired the first shots of the battle.

He is right about the Weapons Clusters(or at least that they exist). How many weapons per cluster I do not remeber. The rest I don't know.

Yes. The Flechettes were used in Black Fleet Crisis, and a couple of other books, while the clusters were mentioned as being a part of the Ishori War cruiser in the Book Vision of the Future.

The 'special systems', are the canon?
#2 5:06pm 12/02/04
These are Canon ships, BTW.
