Flechette Launchers
The standard galaxy wide anti-missile defense system, Flechette launchers work by tubes that discharge a large number of reflective, and hard particles into the paths on oncoming missiles. This reduces the effectiveness of a long range missile strike to 25%, and the effectivness of a short range strike to 50%.
Weapons Blisters
The weapons blisters onboard the Ishori war cruisers consist of a weapons blister protecting a number of weapons. Each blister contains 1 Medium Turbolaser Battery, and 2 Medium Quad Turbolaser cannons. There are ten blisters total on an Ishori cruiser, five to the portside, and five to the starboard side. All the weapons on a blister can fire either up, down, left, or right in full one hundred and eighty degree arcs.
History:
The Ishori War cruiser is produced by the Ishori, from their native homeworld of Isht. These cruisers have seen much service against their constant rivals, the Diamalans, but they have seen combat against the Imperial fleet once. At Bothawui, three or more such cruisers were the first combat ships to engage a trio of Imperial Mark II Star Destroyers. These ships were able to sustain heavy damage, and give back some, too.

It's not "canon" which I'll say again just because I hate that term being thrown around as "canon" is only that seen in the films and their respective radio dramas. But it has been published in an official Star Wars source. So it exists... just don't know a lot about it. In my opinion not enough to approve an R&D.

Is there even a picture of this ship, if it is canon?

Thanks for the clarification on General R&Ds... from all of the ones that I'd reviewed I'd assumed they were supposed to be canon.. since like this one they were all canon. At least th eones I looked at.
CUSWE is the first place I looked Kas, being as it's the most extensive source I know of. When I looked up "Ishori War Cruiser" I got nothing. So I searched descriptions and I found only this.
Predominance
this Ishori war cruiser, commanded by Captain Av'muru, was one of the multitude of ships that came to surround the planet Bothawui shortly after the revelation of the Bothan involvement in the destruction of Caamas. It was the ship that began running down several Sif'krie skiffs in an attempt to draw the Diamalan warships into a battle. In order to avoid the confrontation, Leia Organa-Solo deliberately destroyed the Millennium Falcon's maneuvering engines upon entry into the Bothawui orbital space. She sent out a distress call to the Predominance, which her Captain reluctantly answered. The Predominance managed to capture the floundering ship with a tractor beam and transport it to President Gavrisom's vessel, effectively diffusing the situation. Shortly thereafter, Klif, Pensin, and Horvic managed to infiltrate the ship, disguised as New Republic technicians. They killed their escort and commandeered a turbolaser battery. As soon as Navet dropped the Drev'starn shield, they began firing the Predominance's weapons. They managed eight shots before they were discovered and neutralized. However, this action was coupled with a number of Imperial messages that signalled the various races to begin firing, and the warships above Bothawui began to attack each other. The Predominance took a good deal of fire from the Diamalan ships, especially the Industrious Thoughts, before the true nature of the attack could be disseminated.
As you can see it says little to nothing about the ship itself.

Yeah, General R&D's don't have to be canon, that's why the category was made, because people were using non-canon craft that didn't have official stats.
What does CUSWE have to say about this ship?
#26 10:48pm 03/04/04
My bad. I guess I was mistaken. It not the first time and I'm sure it wont be the last. :b
However I do have something else to add.
Kas did say General R&Ds dont HAVE to be cannon. They were just designed to help legalize stats for ships some groups were using.
However, most General R&Ds are cannon.

Brutus.. General R&Ds still need two approvals. There is nothing I've seen to indicate otherwise. My problem with this particular R&D is that there is so little information to go by. Nowhere would I be able to find stats on this ship.
No I'm not talking about official Star Wars stats.. any stats. Can't find anything. So basically what it comes down to is that we're just guessing what the ship is like. Now granted we're attempting to make an educated guess based on the information we have available. But from what I can gather and from what you're telling me there isn't much information available. And to me that doesn't make sense if we're approving this as a "canon" craft.

As with many other R&Ds, I am making these stats up from what is mentioned in the book. This ship is defined as having turbolaser clusters, with a good many turbolasers on them, among other things.

I thought heard somewhere that General R&Ds needed only 1 approval.
Griff gave his.
I may however be wrong, so take this with a grain of salt.
#22 8:39am 03/04/04
OK this hasn't been approved yet so I thought I'd take a look at it...
There is no stat editting in this process gue.
Its either approved as a canon craft or not.
Is what Lup said in the Bothan Assault Cruiser thread.
So my question to you is where are you getting these stats from? The only info I can pull up is that the Predominance was an Ishori War Cruiser mentioned in Vision of the Future. So if you can give me the source of your stats I'll take a closer look.

Looks okay.
I have no problems. Approved.
#20 2:15am 18/02/04
Okay, how does that look? It has 10 Medium Turbolaser Batteries, 20 Medium Quad Turbolaser Cannons, and 10 Medium Laser cannons.
#19 12:16am 18/02/04
...
then why ask me to approve it?
#18 11:33pm 17/02/04
I'm trying to decide whether or not to revamp the design a little bit. The book had mentioned that when the war cruiser had enterted the Star Destroyer's kill zone, that it lit up surronding space with a dazzling display of turbolaser fire, but it did not say that it inflicted heavy damage. Also, when the Imperial agents hijacked a turbolaser cluster, and fired it at the city below, Leia said the the Bothan Capital was on fire, but it appeared that there was no significant damage in the form of collapsed buildings, etc. I'm thinking of switching it over to a Assault Frigate style armament, large numbers of Medium powered weapons, and eliminating the heavy turbolaser cannons.
#17 10:08pm 17/02/04
No.
I have no issues with it whatsoever.
#16 6:10pm 17/02/04
Is there anything wrong with this design, as of right now?
