Old ships updated stats.
since Im the new guy and TRF goes by its own stats here of sorts I wanted to clear up som stats on ships i plan on using. Ok because alot of these old ships did not have very much to go by when stats were made I wanted to see if we could use some newer stats for them.I am sure you ll know these. They have been discussed before. I know there are no canon stats for some but I thought I would reach and post these.

I don't feel odd saying it at all, but I think you should keep that kind of idea to yourself.

I feel odd saying it, but I think TRF, in it's present form, would benefit greatly if the R&D Section was just shut down completley. It would just eliminate so many of the arguements, not only here, but stemming from techs used in RPing, their controversy, etc.
The stats are not important.
Truer words have not been spoke... err... typed.
I'm with Ahnk; statistics for imaginary ships that exist in a purely fictional, literary world are dumb. Anyone who debates said statistical analysis is dumber. Kraken is dumbest.
So check yourself before you wreck yourself.

This is kind sort of akin to two accountants at a trigonometry conference arguing about whether reverse cowgirl or doggy style is the better sexual position.
Math + sexy stories = does not compute.
If you want to do the research, keep in mind, you're going to have to do ALL the research. If you want to volunteer for that... good luck.

Again it isn't the stats its the fact that there are more than one set of stats. I am fine going with your stats. Stats do not really matter much but to show a general scale of the ships ability. But for ships like the cc9600 the multiple sets of stats are no where close to each other. I like ur stats for the 9600 besides the troop capacity. I like your stats for the Liberator. If those are the stats we will use then cool Im all for it. I just anted to know which set of stats represented the ship.

Some new author or stats freak comes along into LucasArts at about the rate of a year or two and decides that the stats need to change on Star Wars ships. We've gone from a few weapons, to lots of weapons, to several weapons, back down to a few weapons, I'm not even sure what the current 'official' stats stand at right now, I'm sick of the constant stats bickering and official changes, I say we just stick with what we knew four years ago rather than trying to wrap our brains around a constantly changing concept that no longer even holds so much sway here at TRF.
#12 7:24pm 19/04/10
The stats are not important. Its the clashing of different stats that is the problem. The Lib and cc9600 have more than one set of stats here at TRF.
The other stats I posted were for Wes to look over since I was using those ships at Sullust and there had not been stats posted for them on TRF. The Acclamator mkII I did change a bit from cannon but I will gladly use canon stats for them.
#11 7:22pm 19/04/10
I like the changes, but only because they give a more accurate reflection of the actual capabilities of the ship.
I think, though, that I'm going to start using Corise's method of R&D - not providing any numbers, only High, Moderate, and Low ratings.
#10 7:18pm 19/04/10
Everyone's pretty correct about the hyperdrive rating, it's typically not a factor (if it ever even has been) with TRF RPing. Nor do the other amounts really matter that much...
I still don't think we should be retroactively changing ship stats though, but if everyone else is okay with it all, so be it.
Some people like to forget that the Math Faction is dead, gone.
Also, the "Imperator" is only nine letters long.
This. I love the Math Faction as much as the next guy, but the stats aren't super important, just use common sense.
#8 7:01pm 19/04/10
Damn I did put .06... what the hell was I on. sorry about that. I realy dont care what we use I just like playing with ship stats. and some of the numbers did not set right with me is all. I will take a sealed trash can with a shotgun welded to the outside if thats what we want to use.
A x0.75 hyperdrive is canon for the Acclamator II, actually. In general, canon stats trump TRF assumptions (another example would be the shielding of the Nebulon frigate, the Tie Defender, etc).
You are correct I was looking at the Acclamator Mk I and it was late so sorry about that.
Since some of these ships already have had stats posted at TRF, like the CC-9600 or the Liberator, they should probably use those stats unless it's going to be a new R&D.
The stats you guys have are from at least 4 years ago. We know alot more about these ships now than we did 4 years ago.
As far as the lib goes Krakens stats dont pan out. No offense Park. How many ships have stronger hulls than shields? How many 400 meters ships from 30 years ago have 5000 RU? and 4000 SBD? Yes it was the most advanced ship built for its time, and yes it was quoted as being able to stand against an Imperial Star Destroyer. My proposed design dos not change much from Parks design. the main changes are
2,390 RU Hull
2,880 SBD Shielding
instead of
5,000 RU Hull
4,000 SBD shielding
and weapons
4 Double Heavy Turbolaser Cannon Turrets
24 Turbolaser Cannons
20 Ion Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors
instead of
24 heavy turbolser bateries
20 ion cannons
As for the cc9600
I have seen more stats for this ship than any other ship I have ever nown.
Krakens stats simple do not have the troop cpacity this ship is supposed to have. it is a troop lander. It is supposed to have a regiment on board. We use almost the same stats at Fans and Legacy but we had troop capacity. So let me re-prpose the cc9600
CC-9600 Frigate
Length: 270 meters
Crew: 200
Passengers: 1,200
Onboard: 12 bantha Assault Shuttles
Cargo Capacity: 1,000 metric tonnes
Consumables: 6 months
Propulsion:
Hyperdrive Motivator: 2.0 Past Lightspeed
Hyperdrive Backup: 16.0 Past Lightspeed
Sublight Speed: 12 MGLT
Hull Rating: 1,000 RU
Shield Rating: 1,250 SBD
Armament:
4 Double Turbolaser Cannons
6 Double Laser Cannons
16 Concussion Missile Launchers
2 Ion Cannons
2 Tractor Beam Projectors
only thing changed is the troop cap, added shuttles, and weapons tweeked for simplicity.
As for the cc7700 Krakens is fine there is not that much differance.

Reshmar, 0.6 would be reasonable, though I'd still probably raise an eyebrow, as it seems kinda fast. 0.06 is not. Your post had 0.06.
While I like to bean-count ship numbers, I agree with Smarts that the ratings don't matter that much. As long as there's nothing too wacky (50 kilometer ships, 0.06 hyperdrive ratings, etc.) and it's played fairly, I'm not too concerned. I tend to think most of the TRF numbers are overinflated anyway, and I use them just to get an idea of what I'm facing or, alternatively, to give my enemy an idea of what he'll be facing.

Uh oh . . .
The Math doesn't match . . .
