Description -

The Falke class Gunboat is designed to fill in a niche in Imperial forces. The last widely produced gunboat was the Skipray Blastboat, and that vehicle is by far obselete by modern standards. A new gunboat design was needed to help defend capital ships from starfighter and missile threats, and to support starfighter squadrons in the same regard. This is where the Falke comes in at.

The gunship's shape is loosly based off that of the Lambda shuttle, including folding wings with landing struts. However, unlike the Lambda, this gunboat doesn't have a large carryload capacity, the space being taken up by weapon systems and additional systems. A picture has been attached to add clarity of the gunboat's shape.

The ship is armed with a wide variety of weaponry that is well suited for anti-starfighter and anti-missile defense. The Firestorm Quad laser cannon is present, as is the Phoenix gun batteries. In addition, the gunboat is armed with a pair of general purpose warhead launchers, each launcher having an ammunition capacity of ten torpedoes or missile, or five heavy rockets or space bombs. In addition, a light tractor beam has been added to give the gunboat the ability to tow crippled fighters or shuttles back to capital ships.
