Description -
The Yamato class Battle Command Destroyer is designed to not only command fleets, but also to lead them into battle, fully capable of defeating enemy fleets herself without any trouble. The vessel is massive, massing more than an Executor class Super Star Destroyer.
At first glance the destroyer may have fewer weapons than contemporary vessels her size, but what she lacks in numbers, she makes up for quality. The tried and true X-10 Turbolaser Batteries, first used on the Regent class destroyers, are used on this vessel, a modification of the old Turbolaser battery, in which the barrels are able to fire at twice their normal rate, although the power of each shot is slightly reduced, and after one hundred shots, the barrel must cool down for several minutes without firing again. Also used on the Regent, the X-20 Turbolaser Cannon is a pulse cannon that fires a contious powerful turbolaser beam for several seconds, delivering an incredible amount of punch, but requiring a long cool down period in between shots, to not only cool down the barrel, but also recharge as well.
The Super Turbolasers, first used on the Imperial Star Destroyer Mark V, make an appearance here as well, in an uprated version. The STL-18s are each ten times as powerful as a heavy turbolaser battery, but also take longer in between firings than a normal STL cannon would. There a nine of these barrels, mounted three to a turret. Rounding out the armament is an array of ion batteries and proton torpedo tubes.
Although the Yamato is well armed in offensive armament, she is sorely lacking in defensive armament. Rather, she relies on not only her impressive shielding arrays, shields that power the ship are 75% particle based, 20% ray based, and 5% ion based, protecting the ship from nearly any kind of offensive weapons out there in wide use. In addition, ten squadrons of starfighters are embarked, and these fighters are meant only to act as a screen for the destroyer. The starfighter capacity can be doubled if most of the shuttles and all the ground vehicles are dis-embarked.
Speaking of Hangar and Troop Capacity, the hangars are massive enough to allow two Star Destroyers or other vessels up to two thousand meters in length to be docked in the bays. Other embarked vehicles include a wide array of shuttles, gunboats, and ground vehicles. Up to one hundred thousand infantry or passengers can be embarked on the destroyer.
For propulsion, the ship has six embankments of engines, four of those embankments have four drive engines, the two main ones have eight engines. Each engine only runs at 50% of it's maximum capacity. The reason for this is that for quick manuevers, power can be decreased on one side and increased on another side. In addition for this reason, another reason is that if a drive nacelle is disabled or destroyed, the other drive engines can pick up the slack. The hyperdrive rating is also excellent for a vessel of this size.
For command facilites, the Yamato is well equipped. There are two main facilites, one located in the bridge, and the other in the heart of the vessel. The bridge contains the medium range communications and the main sensor facilites, while the heart of the vessel contains the long range and holocommunications gear and the war room for the fleet commanders, updated every minute with the latest images and text messages from the heart of battlefields around the galaxy.
Currently there is only one Yamato class vessel in comission, the BCD Flarestar.

Neh.
Oh, BTW, Yamato is named for Japan, not Yamamoto. Yamato is the main providence of Japan. Just like Musashi, Shinano, Nagato, Mutsu, etc., are providences of Japan.

Actually, I posted before I saw your above post. If it's a one-of-a-kind, only for Park Kraken, that should be fine.

Ok ok. I'm doing away with this ship.

I have to agree with Beff and Irtar. Though I like the design, Park, we have a lot of these already.

This is basically an upgraded Superior class ship, like a Superior Mark II. Or a super Superior.
But since Kaine and Drayson have their own command ships, I should have one as well.

But this one is 12 kilometers long as has a new name! C'mon Irtar, they need all the help they can get... obviously.
Mwah!
Seriously though; another command ship?

Allow me to say what I always say:
THE EMPIRE DOESN'T NEED MORE COMMAND SHIPS. Yeesh.

Wow.
Okay, so there's a historical Yamato.
There's fictional Battleship Yamato...
Now there's a TRF Yamato...
And only one actually had it's namesake, Admiral-wise.
