The Ruskies tried that. Biggest Nuke ever. The shockwave could be felt on its sixth rotation around the planet.
Some "scientists" (like Batman) theorize that if everyone in the world were to jump at exactly the same time, and more importantly land at the same moment, the effect could alter the axial rotation of Earth.
