a weird off the wall question for you...

what is toad-in-a-hole?

see, I read these little books that alot of the time have British heroines, and quite often, they mention making toad-in-a-hole, toad-in-the-hole?, for supper and I don't have a clue what it is... jacket potatoes is another one..

If supper wasn't mentioned I would say that toad-in-a-hole is just a British town, like Kingston-Upon-Hull, etc., but.....

Apparently it's baked pork sausages with a gravy topping.

Its whats known as a 'Yorkshire pudding' with sausages inside it.

Very nice actually.

Google the recipe for a Yorkshire pudding and you'll get the idea, goes well with mashed potatoe, seasonal veggies and a bit of gravy.

Good hearty food. ;)
