The real issue of consternation is what destroying an Arbiter would do to a rift portal, and anyone in it. With the words he used about ships slowly moving through the rift, I thought of it as some sort of portal, and thus if the portal were to be destabalized while a ship were half through it'd have the effect of "cutting" a ship in two. At least, that was my guess. I figured the Arbiter wouldn't be too hard to kill, as it seems to possess no protection, is a mere seven meters long, and was staying still to stabalize the portal.
I admit, there might be some unpleasentness about the whole 'following', but my reasons seem sound - the Stealth Intruders are the scouts of the Coalition, and we had earlier found Daemun transports hiding near the system, so why not push further out to see what was there? After that, it was merely a matter of pursuit, as shortly after the arbiter vanishes, an arbiter reappears.
As for my writing style, I've been reading the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and thought a post in that sort of old-time strategic text would be fun.
