"... and from there the logical progression of 'attack, counter-attack' will see the inevitable encirclement and defeat of Sovereignty forces."
The group of admirals and generals that sat around the table nodded their heads. Among them sat a number of men considered genius, others blacklisted by High Command. The one thing that could be said about the Diktat is that it made sure to use (or abuse) its resources to the fullest. Of them only one held both of those charactoristics, the hireling, and it was he who was first to question Pittas Modus Operandi.
A fast paced back and forth followed, the more perceptive of the commanders saw the basis of this mission as entirely opportunist and stated so, while the others simply concerned themselves with the particulars of the various engagements they would make.
But at the end everyone was satisfied, at least in his or her own way, and with that Admiral Pitta dismissed them, finally allowing himself some peace. Now he stood in his quarters aboard the Ravager II looking out over the sprawling spacescape that lay before him.
Dozens of ships, ranging from small to immense framed his view, the distant system of Roon's raging spacial storms providing an interesting counterpoint to the typical array of ships that had been assembled.
Indeed these were very special ships...
He sipped quickly on the glass of Corellian made whiskey before swirling the liquour around in both the glass and his mouth. Satisfied, as if they whiskey had to meet certain standards before being worthy of entering his stomach, he swallowed. A slight tickle of flame touched his throat which brought a small smile to his brutal features.
After the victory's at Corellia and Diamal Danetta had finally been allowed to engage in an action that would finally bring is anti-alien bias to good use.
And where better than Tatooine? It had been neglected much since the Sovereignty had seized it, the aliens gaining more 'equal rights' to land and government than had the humans.
It was the humans who made Tatooine something other than a backwater. It was the human farmers who had finally managed to ween the planet to self sufficiency. It was the human administrators of the Empire who had organised centralised government and who, knowing the planet to be worthless to Corporations, allowed the Hutts to flourish, which resulted in a massive increase in trade and luxuries to the planet.
And it had been the humans who had taken all that away. Sovereignty humans. Enforcing equal rights and civil liberties on all, even though it was only the humans who had deserved them.
Within months thousands of claims for 'native title' were issued by the aliens, primarily by the tuskans, for a return of 'their lands'.
They made claims everywhere, from outlying farms to the most expensive real estate on the planet. An Imperial Administration would have simply laughed it off. But a Sovereignty Administration did not. Massive tracts of land were 'repatriated' to various alien subsections. Humans who had lived on planet for centuries were thrown off their land with only a pittance in recompanse.
As a result, without the skilled labour running the economy, Tatooine as it was before the first fall of the empire was gone. Many humans remained, unemployed or simply uncaring, their bitterness against the 'Sovereign' administration growing daily.
Time to hit one back for the little guys!
There was an inherent bitterness to Danetta's sarcasm, even he could note that. But soon, well, soon things would change. Whether at the hands of the Imperials or not, the humans would rise up in great vengeance and furious anger against those who would attempt to threaten and destroy their brothers.
And thanks to his actions, that might be sooner rather than later.
Surface of Tatooine, Mos Eisley.
"... and the @#%$ took it all!"
The racous chorus of agreements in the human dominated bar would have been enough to draw comment on any other world. On tatooine, it was simply part of the scenery. And on any other day Kallic would have joined in shouting loud and proud his hatred of the new administration.
But today was not any other day. He and another, whom he had only met once, had been lucky enough to be chosen to strike a blow for mankind!
And so he left the bar quickly, making his way to his speeder bike and quickly embarked. He knew that today the only thing that stopped a return of the Imperial hegemony would be a Super Star Destroyer. Or 5.
Grinning to himself as he gunned the engine of the bike he quickly kicked it into gear and took off towards, well, his destiny.
10 minutes later, above Tatooine.
The Imperial Fleet reverted instantly to reveal the now backwater planet. To his left an ensign shouted out indicating the Starfuries had been launched and that all systems were on full, weapons and sheilds ready.
As planning dictated the small craft formed a skirmish screen ahead of the main fleet elements and as one the unit began making moves towards the planet. Most importantly the 3 Torpedo Spheres reported their payloads ready for delivery and began scanning the entire planet for energy buildups.
As they waited for enemy forces to engage them Admiral Pitta siezed the comms to send his men, and anyone else listening, a message.
"Gloria Imperium!"
