Just when I think the season is over, Wilma forms in the Carribean Sea. I think it's no big deal, until it's forecast to move over our state. I still don't think much of it, because it's forecast to be a weak hurricane. 8AM yesterday, it became a minimal Category 1 Hurricane. 24 hours later, it becomes the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin.

Winds: 175 MPH
Pressure: 26.05 MB

I saw this in the news somewhere, and I was going to read about it. Then I realized that Kraker would have posted it complete with colour picture, and I could just read about it on TRF.

I was right :)

But seriously, really impressive storm. Normally I like them with bigger eyes, but truly this storm is majestic.

the only hope for that storm is that the mountains on the Yucatan and Puerto Rico calm it down some... even to a cat 4 is better than what it is now

Poor Cuba... Well, now that it's been destroyed I will need to resettle it to make the great Cuban Empire of El Irtaro!

*rubs his hands* And yes... these hurricanes have nothing to do with my diaobolical scheme of global domination. Nothing at all.... Though you shall only know the truth when it is too late!

Well, the Grand Caymans are getting the crap pounded out of them right now with the storms feeder bands. The Cayman Islands are those two or three small dots south of western Cuba.

Here is the forecasted five-day track:

This is what I am worried about. If the current size of the storm holds true, it will pound the crap out of us. The only thing going in our favour is that it is forecast to weaken to a strong class 3 or weak 4, and that it is supposed to be moving fast when it hits us, so it will be over quicker.
