We're hardly lazy, and not Republicans. Plus, that map doesn't have all our planets on it (we have gained a couple more since then).

Remember space is 3D right?
Also remember you only took the planet, not entire sections of space, unless of course, you roleplay otherwise.

We've always played it as owning a planet yields Imperial presence in that system. i.e. by owning Koros Major and Cinnigar, we control the entire Empress Teta system, and by owning Kal'Shabbol at al., we own the Kathol region.
The same is true for other groups, of course, not just TNO. We "own" planets because of the way the OOC rules are set up. But IC, our "influene" extends to thousands more...
