Imperial Baron-Admiral
I am more honourable than thou!
The Coalition does not know where the Imperial ships departed to. Realism would suggest that they would have no way of knowing - the ships could have jumped to Corellia, Commenor, Gyndine - Imperial fortress worlds where no Coalition operative could exist without being followed and tailed.

Either way - a simple error that I request be edited.

It might not be my business posting here but the Coalition could have tracked the vectors of the TNO ships.

Have you guys worked something out then?

Sorry if I treated you like a prick, Telan. I just thought that these kind of arguements were a thing of the past, and it kinda pisses me off that we (seemingly) drafted a whole new radical set of rules for no tangible benefit.

Anyway, Dolash, you could track his escape vector but that would hardly give you a clear or accurate picture of where he went... plus, who says he take the straight trip?

Actually, this was a coincidence - it appears I was writing my post as he was writing his. Ironic, really. I would imagine mine would take place first, however, since it would occur just before they even got back to Corellia. Not to presume, of course, but I would like to attempt this operation if it is at all possible, and it could certainly make a good story.

I would think Corellia since it is the closest Imperial planet, they are suffereing considerable damage after the fight (and would need repairs), and also because Regrad personally has a bit of a bias against Corellia ever since the battle over it. Bad things come from Corellia, in Regrad's mind, and all it would take is a little periphial evidence like "They definetly didn't jump in the exact opposite direction to Corellia" for Regrad to suspect it. I know, it sounds a bit too 'convenient', but if Regrad had to guess a planet (which he did) to send his agents to in the hopes of it being the right one, Corellia seems the most reasonable choice.

Note: Upon inspection, it appears that Duros and some place called Gyndine are closer, but heck, when do bad things come from there? Imperial fleets come from places like Corellia, Coruscant, Bastion, not planets filled with aliens. Also, since Telan ended Strategic Necessities saying he was going to Corellia, I'm guessing that once J-1 arrived he could inspect to see if that were the case - it'd probably be on some log, and even if disguised amongst regular ship orders, he could perhaps from that determine their veracity.

I don't know that I like your logic very much, Dolash.

Yeah, I admit it to be 'last ditch'. If you want, I can just take it down. I do plan to try something, though - perhaps I couldn't dispatch a team until after they arrive? Or they wouldn't get there until then? It would afford me a chance to write more of the boarders who attempt to hold out until then.

Failing all that, I would settle to just write as the boarder commander, Major Maxly, and have a go at it myself.

I think, honestly, that in the interest of both realism and fair play that you either rework it, or just take it down.

And maybe in the interest of not driving Telan's character to suicide, you could leave the guy alone for a while?

I just read what Telan posted in full - he's shooting himself? Was it that bad?

I implore you to reconsider, Telan. It's just one battle, generals and admirals sometimes don't always get the result they want, but there's no need to give up hope.

The reason why I've been pulling all this is because to me this isn't just a story, it's a part of an overall battle against the Empire, and part of that battle is being true to my characters and part of that is for the Coalition to try and get it's men back. It might be annoying, or exasperating, but I'm not going to just throw my hands in the air and say 'In the interest of speeding things along Regrad suddenly loses his entire system of ethics.' I had to do that with Kiyar so Ahnk could do something there, but he never did, so now it looks like the Coalition lost a tonne of men then never made an effort to go back and look for them. I'm not going to lay off, as it were, until my characters are satisfied enough that they'll pause to catch their breath - which isn't yet, since there's still Coalition soldiers in danger.

That's my position and I'm sticking to it. I want to go after them, and I'm willing to discuss with Telan (don't shoot yoursef!) on how this can be approached, including a rewrite of my post.

Maybe it's just attempted suicide, and Telan is just trying to write a story?
