I was just reading the Force Users thread and someone mentioned pronunciation... and it reminded me of a rather interesting thread I saw on TGC years ago. The question: how do you pronounce your character's name? It's not always clear from the spelling, and it's a good bet a lot of people have been getting it wrong without ever knowing it.

For example, how many people have been calling Ceel General Seal (out of ignorance, not as an insult)? It's pronounced Keel...

So. How do you pronounce your name?

FYI: Bhindi is pronounced as Bin-dee... not B-hin-dee...

I remember that thread. Hyfe's entry was enlightening...although I forget what it actually was...

for me: "Chau" as in...well, chau...same way they say it in StarCraft, basically. And Ming should be pretty self-explanitory.

btw Demo, how do you pronounce Demothenes? I know it's a pretty normal, everyday name, but none of my friends speak Greek and I've only ever seen it written down in history texts.

I've always pronounced it chow. Having never played StarCraft.

Demosthenes... dem-os-thene-s, or dem-ohs-thene-es. Either/or.
