Seems a little crazy to me. I mean, it'll obviously never work. I seriously doubt they'll even get the 12,000 people they want to influence South Carolina. But the whole concept of trying to get a state to leave and form its' own nation just so they can make a "Christian State" where they can stay far away from abortionists, homosexuals, and people who worship some other god? Don't they see that as a little silly?
And I don't think people should completely link the Right Wing with Christianity. Christian fringe associations seem to sit comfortably with Right-wing fringe associations, who both often share common goals, but by and large the Right Wing does not look like a political opinion built out of the religious tenents of christianity.
And while we're on that, maybe those christians should be reminded of the seperation of church from state. Because of this people should be given the choice to act freely without their behaviour being dictated by religions, especially if they're not even affiliated with them, and if someone IS of a religion they can simply choose to follow its' rules and not make use of that which is allowed.
Example: If there are branches of christianity which think homosexuality should not be allowed, such as this one apparently, it doesn't seem their right to say that others besides themselves should be denied the right to be homosexual, because perhaps some people feel it IS all right, and thus is not other peoples' buisness.
