Take a look at reply #2 in the planets list thread. I'm assuming that shouldn't be there, correct? Any idea which thread it should belong to?

Titus,
He did make that post accidentally in the Planet List thread back in 2009.. probably had one too many Shirley Temples... but those (each planet addition request) posts, while deleted, were not removed so Staff could go back and review them if needed.
I guess the program reopened all the planet requests when porting over to rebelfaction.org. So, can we delete (but not remove) all these planet requests as they are responded to?

Oh thank god, I was getting a bit worried there. Replies popping up in the wrong threads is the last thing I want.
This board doesn't have that kind of soft-delete, not now anyway. I can add it. What I really want is a way to easily build a planetary history, so we could see when the planet was claimed by someone, which thread was used, what threads contain wars over a planet, etc.

Yeah, that was my mistake back then.
Titus, is that planetary history something going to part of the planet database, or something else?

An add-on for the planetary database. At the moment the planetary database is just a container for a collection of pages were we can put whatever we want: text, images, etc. I want to build some addons that will tie those pages to threads, and maybe classify those relationships by whatever took place.
At the moment those relationships would be the usual Takeover, and the OOC claiming of said planet (like what we discuss here), some kind of tie to whatever group owns the planet at the moment, and random character appearances.
We have a ton of history, and getting to it can be a bit hard. It would be nice to be able to build data connections so we can very easily see the whole history of a planet on TRF, assuming someone cared enough to make those connections.

I would love too..

I wouldn't mind helping out with that project either, though admittedly I know less of many of TRF's more storied planets.
Is it safe to assume then that it's okay to start putting entries into the planet database then?

Yes, the entire Universe section is safe to start working on. There are a bunch of planetary entries in the Wiki Import that can be edited/moved into the appropriate places. If you look at the page content and things seem suspiciously absent, leave it be. I'm going to try enable a plain-text editor for that category. The old wiki markup is not playing nice with the new editor.
Other than that, have at it.
