So, Mozilla and Firefox are two programs that are the same? Firefox is not an accessory for Mozilla?

Firefox is just the browser, I believe, while Mozilla is the whole package (email, etc.).
Which by the way, I tried again after all these years. And still hated. When I was done it looked just like the Netscape I already had. And it screwed up certain plugins, which in turn caused the browser to crash, so I just removed it again.

Mozilla is the name of the company, and is often used as a short name for the Mozilla Suite, which is a collection of programs (browser, email client, html editor, irc chat and an address book).
Mozilla Firefox, or just Firefox, is just a web-browser. If you just want a Web Browser, use Firefox. If you want an email client, html editor, irc chat client and an address book, then use the Suite.
Personally, I would say start Firefox, because it's more beginner-friendly. It's also a smaller download, and it only does one thing (browse the web).
I use Firefox now, and I used the Suite for over a year before that. You could compare it to driving a compact or a jumbo van. It'll get you where you want to go, but each can do different things on the way. Speedy and minimal = Firefox. Extended functionality and advanced customization features = Mozilla Suite.
Glad to see my constant propaganda is having some effect.

You use Netscape? Wow... been awhile since I've seen someone use Netscape. What version of Mozilla did you use? I know the Suite still comes with the old Netscape skins, which is a major turn-off for a lot of people (What's this? Netscape, eww!).
Also, as the Suite and Firefox grow further and further apart, there's going to be less and less cross-browser plugin capabilities. I've had a few plugins kill the browser, but that was usually because I tried installing something that was for the Suite, and not Firefox.

yeah... I was only looking for a browser. Not the entire package. I have Mozilla Suite at home but never really took to it. But I hate popups and virus vulnerability even more. I have always been a IE user.
However, I am here at work and have downloaded Firefox and I do like this. I think I will delete the suite at home and replace with Firefox as well.
A browser is all I need since I use AOL for my email addys.

No... I don't use Netscape, but I have a copy that I tested Tales on to make sure it didn't look too much like ass in it.
When I was finished downloading Mozilla Suite it looked like... Netscape. So yes, it was definitely a turn off. (Newfangled software to play with and it looks like 1998? Lame.)
I might still try Firefox, if the plugins don't do me in.

Well, I run Firefox 0.8 with the following plugins, no problems at all. I'll upgrade to 0.9.1 when all my plugins and skins are ported over.

Well, Firefox does a great job at blocking popups. I only see them on the few sites that I allow them.
