Next Wednesday we are introducing a brand new version of our highly popular search feature, Forum Find. You may know that Forum Find is the best way for people to find your board on ezboard. Well, we’ve been working hard to deliver an even better Forum Find and can’t wait for you to experience the difference.
Not only have we made keyword searching much more versatile; we’ve also added popular categories and keyword searching within those categories so your community can be found more easily and with greater frequency.
As an Admin, we also wanted to make you aware that because this is a completely new board search engine, your community will not be listed in the new Forum Find until you choose a board category in the Forum Find Control Center.
Of course, we will carry over your Community Description from the previous version but in order to be found in the new Forum Find, you will need to go to your Control Center and select the best category and add up to ten keyword or short phrases that describe your community – it should only take you a couple minutes. After that any of the millions of ezboard members will be able find your community. If you would like to get prepared in advance click here for a screen shot of the new Forum Find Settings page.
We’ll let you know the minute the new Forum Find is released via a Smart Global Announcement so you can update your settings and make your community searchable.
Stay tuned,
Your ezboard team
Forumfind. Gee, just what we've always wanted.
How about a real forum search feature, so people can find the threads they want in just a few clicks, and not have to use a google search or page painfully through every page? No, it would be too much to ask.
I understand that ezboard has a monster task on hand in moving to a new database format. It's just that the new search feature has been in the works for easily over a year, yet nothing has happened. In fact, nothing ever seems to happen, except features get broken every time the do a minor update.
The only thing ezboard is good at is keeping their servers online.
